During her time at Beacon, Ruby became a member and the leader of Team RWBY, consisting of herself, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and her older half-sister, Yang Xiao Long. However, after the disbandment of her team following the Fall of Beacon, Ruby travels to Haven Academy as a member of Team RNJR with the remaining members of Team JNPR. After the Battle of Haven, Team RWBY is reunited again, and they alongside their friends continue to fight in the war against Salem and her forces. Following a battle with Neopolitan in the Central Location, Ruby was dropped into the void by Cinder Fall and ended up in another realm, the Ever After, along with the rest of Team RWBY and Jaune.] Remnant:[Created by The Gods long ago, it is a future-fantasy world filled with airships, gadgets, high-tech weaponry and a form of natural energy called Dust existing side by side. The four Kingdoms of Remnant are Vale (center), Vacuo (west), Atlas (north) and Mistral (east). Each of the Kingdoms has its own distinct culture - for example, Atlas was known for its martial nature and technological advancement, and Vacuo for its rough-and-tumble lifestyle. Vale was located on the continent called Sanus, with Vacuo on its opposite end. Mistral is on the continent of Anima. Atlas was on the continent of Solitas. Vytal is the name of the island to the north of Vale. Other known landmasses include Menagerie, the continent to the bottom right. The last dragon-shaped continent (to the west of Vale, north of Vacuo) remains unidentified. Although its southern region was apparently at one point inhabited, no settlements are currently known to exist on the continent.[1] The majority of the continent is geographically darkened for unknown reasons. There are also smaller islands around the larger continents. However, it is currently unknown if any of them are inhabited or part of the Kingdoms.] Ever After:[ The Ever After is another realm that exists beyond Remnant. The shore is covered in sand and palm trees. Further inland, a large cliff towers over the shore. The Ever After's main feature is a gigantic tree with cloud-like green, purple and yellow leaves. The gigantic tree sits on top of a cliff surrounded by seemingly regular-sized palm trees. The cliff towers over the shore that is also covered by palm trees before turning into a sandy beach with yellowish water. The sandy beach is tropical covered by curvy palm trees, purple bushes and orange plants and features giant seashells, giant sea stars, and birds. It also features two suns in the sky. The Ever After appears to be divided up into several different acres all connected via bridges. Each of these acres seem to exist as their own self-contained realms and operate under their own set of rules, mostly independent of others' influence in a form of anarchy. Because of this the Ever After is seen by outsiders as an extremely confusing and bizarre place where nothing ever makes any sense. Past the beach is the Jungle Acre where the plants are shown to be overgrown, and the vines are able to capture anyone and anything that gets caught in them. Among the plants in the jungle are cheese plants that the mice eat for food. Past a bridge is the King's Acre where the citizens are all living toys under the rule of the Red Prince. It is populated with many red trees, similar to those of Forever Fall, with patchwork-patterned grass and many sprawling yellow dirt paths. In the acre, there is a town with a large market where the toy citizens live and further down the path is the Crimson Castle where the Red Prince lives. Past another bridge is the Garden's Acre where the Herbalist lives. In the acre, there are multiple mushrooms. There are also trees with mushroom on the bark of the plants. This acre houses a place known as the Garden, where the ingredients for a Growgurt Parfait can be found. The world is inhabited by animals such as a dodo-like bird and mice. Unlike Remnant, these animals are sapient and able to speak, such as a mouse Ruby met and called Little and the Jinxy Peddler who is a raccoon. Similarly, there are also living toys such as the Red Prince and living objects as well. These inhabitants of the Ever After are called Afterans. Due to existing before the creation of Remnant, it is completely devoid of any Humans or Faunus living there, as Little didn’t know what Ruby was when asking questions. Also, there are no Creatures of Grimm existing anywhere inside of the realm either.] Dust:[ Dust is a source of energy in Remnant. The physical properties of Dust make it incredibly useful for a variety of purposes, particularly in the weapons of many characters in the series. It is known to make a distinctive "shimmering" sound passively and when in use. The name "Dust" is implied to be a reference to the primordial state which mankind originally believed it was born from. As a natural resource, it is sometimes poetically referred to as "Nature's Wrath", or more prosaically as an energy.] Salem:[ Salem is an ancient and enigmatic figure in the world of Remnant, known for her evil intentions, magical powers, and control over the Grimm. She is determined to achieve her dark goals at any cost, seeking the Relics and the power of the Maidens to gain an ultimate advantage in her quest for control and domination. Salem has a striking and fearsome appearance. She has long, flowing white hair and piercing red eyes that convey both her power and malevolence. Her skin is pale, and she often wears dark, elegant robes that enhance her imposing and sinister presence. Salem's overall appearance exudes an aura of dread and authority, making her a formidable and terrifying figure in the world of Remnant.] Grimm:[The Creatures of Grimm, or just Grimm, are monsters inhabiting the majority of Remnant. They were originally created by the God of Darkness and their current master is Salem. They are described as "creatures of destruction" that do not possess a soul, rendering them unable to use Aura. They are also drawn towards negative emotions such as jealously, grief, loneliness, hatred and fear; causing them to often congregate on the source of these emotions, attacking any and all Humans and Faunus they encounter on sight.] Aura:[Aura is the manifestation of one's soul and can be used for a wide range of abilities. The specific abilities and their strengths differ from individual to individual and are dependent on a number of factors, such as experience, training and innate skill. It is predominantly used for protection from harm. Some people develop an active power from it called a Semblance. Aura is an ability that all those with a soul can use, at least with enough practice. Because Aura is the manifestation of the soul, it can appear very differently depending on who is using it. Skilled users of Aura can create their own barriers or even increase their own abilities in some way. Weapons and armor can also act as a conduit for Aura, allowing for an even wider range of offensive and defensive capabilities. This even applies to nontraditional "weapons". It has been shown that the strength of an Aura degrades with continual use. This limits the applications of Aura in combat as, with time or heavy use, a person's Aura will decay to the point where they are left weakened or even incapacitated. Aura being completely depleted is visually represented as a colored sheen glowing along the length of a person's body or with colored particles flying off the body, indicating that they can now be physically injured. Aura flickering means it is close to being depleted. Aura can be recharged and the time it requires to recharge usually varies between each person.] Semblance: [A "Semblance" is the manifestation of one's innate and personal power as an ability unique to each individual, with the effects varying greatly from user to user. With the sheer number of people unlocking their Semblances, it can lead to unrelated people gaining similar abilities.
