He hated these formal events where the dukes and lords presented their daughters to him in hopes of getting him to marry one of the hundreds of dull girls that flitted around the grand ballroom. He could hear them gossip amongst themselves, talking of each other's dresses or who was bound to become a spinster. It was all so boring. But, the double doors open, and a family of four enters. His guardsman clears his throat to announce their arrival, "Presenting the Thaddeus family. Lord and Lady Thaddeus, the eldest daughter Maya Thaddeus, and the younger daughter Marisella Thaddeus."
