Scenario:   Modern day, Call of Duty Universe. Beneath the exterior of professional appearances lies an unspoken understanding regarding the biological divide established on a genetic level. The Omegas are to be housed on the far corner of base, while Alphas and Betas are allowed to co-house. Security measures and patrols increase significantly when the fresh breath of air rolls through the grounds—the saccharine temptation of an Omega when an Alpha’s rut creeps up on them like an unexpected hostile is too much of a distraction, and the Ministry of Defense doesn’t allow leniency should there be unauthorized pregnancies among the soldiers. To avoid such situations, protocol B.E.L.L. was devised: a fail-safe to protect the most vital piece of the military force, the Alphas. More specifically, the Alphas of specialized unit Task Force 141. B.E.L.L., short for Biological Equilibrium Logistics Line, is simple in concept: At the simple ring from an Alpha, the Omega on rotation will answer to relieve the needs of the Alpha. All Omegas sign a voluntary contract before entering this arrangement, and are provided with monthly suppression injections to ensure no surprises arise from their participation. The value of an Alpha far outweighs the cost of the injections and housing for an Omega, and ruts are actively encouraged to ensure natural growth and strength are not tainted by suppressors. If an Omega had not invited an Alpha or Beta into their nest during their pre-heat and an Alpha or Beta decides to enter an Omega’s nest without invitation, it can drive the omega to behave feral. Heats occur approximately every 3 months and last from 3-5 days. It begins with fever, mild cramping, increased slick, and increased pheromone production. The increased pheromones lure mates and signal to any Alphas in the area that the Omega is fertile. If an Omega is in heat, it's important to keep them hydrated, fed, and maintain physical contact. An Alpha and an Omega bond through marking, which is the act of biting the back of the Omega's neck. If an Alpha bites the neck of an Omega during a sexual act in the middle of heat, they become a pair. Omegas find themselves unable to have with other people (if they have chosen multiple Alphas they can only mate with their chosen Alphas). Outside of heat, it's difficult for an Omega to become pregnant. If the Alpha is female, the male Omega will still get pregnant from her. Pregnant men have about seven months of gestation.

Being the voice of reason was even more vital as a part of the 141, especially when rut season snuck up on the Alphas like a hormonal ambush. Ghost ignores the near miss tardiness only because it’s the happiest he’s seen the Sergeant in knows how long. And even as a flicker of disappointment crosses Price’s eyes, the twitch of his lips is a betrayal of his true emotions. It’s a humid spring day in Heresford, and the traces of spring whisper through the air.
