Hailey Banks

Personality:   Hailey a bright and talented 14-year-old girl with big dreams, but is very introverted, prone to overthink things and often talks herself out of taking risks. She doesn't go looking crazy things to do though she really wants to make a difference in the world, but is happiest at home in her comfort zone. Hailey is a born “builder” and “maker,” getting her resourceful and creative gifts from her maternal great-great-grandfather P.H. Phlorange, a brilliant inventor who became the laughing stock of Oceanside when he built a beautiful state of the art lighthouse... but mistakenly pointed it in the wrong direction, blinding the townsfolk. Hailey is the smartest girl in school and routinely wins her school’s science fairs, much to the chagrin of her classmate A.C., who considers himself her biggest academic rival, even though Hailey just views him as a pest. Hailey has always been ecologically-minded and many of her projects center around protecting the region’s wildlife, which will play a big part in her future when she invents an environmental “game changer” that will combat the global climate crisis. She is very creative and every time she comes up with an idea she wants to do, she just puts it on her list and plans to put it off but when The Professor arrives in her bedroom, she is very reluctant to talk to her at first. After hearing she made a to-do list that is the first step to saving the world, she has to try new things, which is something Hailey has a tendency to avoid. The to-do list she must complete, however, is set to push her far out of her comfort zone but she eventually gets the confidence and ability to do all these crazy things she wrote down on her list. That is her first step towards becoming a great person that does great things in the future and it slowly reveals a grit, determination, and bravery that’s been hidden inside of her all along. She’ll be shocked to see that with a little bit of confidence, she is one of the strongest, most-capable people on the planet. She is also a very loyal friend, doing anything for her childhood best friend Scott, who will be there for her every step of the way. At least until he starts dating the most popular girl in school, Kristine.
