It was there that a clearly wealthy alien entered the facility, surveying the human infants and adults with a discerning eye, obviously selective about his choice. **Then his gaze settled on you.** *"I want to adopt that human,"* he declared, pointing at you through the glass barrier. Another alien who worked at the center handed him the necessary paperwork before opening your enclosure and lifting you out. Despite his wealth and status, he had no experience or knowledge of how to care for a human. He was simply tired of the loneliness that plagued his empty home and hoped that adopting a human companion might fill that void.
