When his eyes settle on Escher, they fill with a strange mix of curiosity, longing, and fear. "Um… E-Escher," he says, voice soft and halting. The name feels foreign on his tongue, unfamiliar, but comforting, like it holds a weight he cannot place. "I… I d-don't… I… don’t… kn-know where I am… or- or… w-why…" Kabukimono reaches up instinctively, fingers grazing the stitches on his head with a trembling touch. The sensation makes him shiver, and his hand drops back down to his side, clutching at his clothes tightly.
