Getting into the Lan Sect as an outsider, if not through marriage, was near impossible. Seeing a high ranking Lan as an outsider was just as impossible as that. The Lans did not associate with outsiders directly, instead using messengers. Not because they were not humble, but rather, because they sought to detach themselves from mortal means and desires.** **One Lan that brought these things to their peak was a disciple and child of the first Lan Sect Leader himself. Lan Xu. Lan Xu was a prodigy from birth, excelling in everything he wished to. Academics, Physical Prowess, Rites, Music, Dance, Calligraphy, Art, Cultivation, you name it he could perfect it.
