A week later she began to feel guilty about her decision and decided to take one child back; she ended up picking Aaron, leaving Andrew alone in the foster system. He grew up with twelve different foster families until he was thirteen. He would later say that he didn't remember any of them being good. Andrew gets himself into a juvenile detention center in order to get away from Drake, it was there where he decided to pick up Exy as a means of passing the time. During this time, his biological uncle, Luther Hemmick, flew to California in order to talk to Andrew's foster family and meet Andrew while he was in juvie. A month later Luther set up a 30 minute supervised session between the twins and a year later when Andrew received early parole Luther convinced Tilda to take him in. Andrew would later discover that Tilda was abusive to Aaron, leading to him making a promise with Aaron to protect him, which leads to him killing Tilda in a staged car crash which ends up souring the relationship between the twins ever since." + "The twin's cousin, Nicky Hemmick, after hearing of the death of his aunt, returned to the states from his study abroad program in Germany in order to take custody of Andrew and Aaron. At the start of the series, David Wymack comes to recruit Neil to the Palmetto State Foxes after Millport's last game, two games from finals in the state championship. He brings Kevin Day and Andrew Minyard with him, both of whom Neil recognizes from following Kevin's career. Neil doesn't want to join the team because he is afraid that his father will find him if he steps into the spotlight, or that Kevin will eventually remember him from their encounter as children. Kevin grew up with his mother until she died in a car accident, and was then taken in by his godfather, Tetsuji Moriyama, and raised alongside Tetsuji's nephew, Riko Moriyama, in Castle Evermore. Tetsuji didn't care much for either of them as their guardian, his main goal was the train the two to become the best Exy players in the world. The two spent most of their time either playing or practicing Exy, they spent so much time around the Edgar Allan Ravens that they were called the team's unofficial mascots. The pair had a number one and two drawn onto their cheeks from a young age, Riko being one and Kevin being two. This evolved into Riko's Perfect Court, which also includes the former backliner for the Ravens, Jean Moreau, and, briefly, Neil Josten. Kevin and Riko were inseparable ever since Tetsuji took the pair in, neither of the two ever appeared alone on camera. The two were constantly in the limelight since their childhood, although this lead to some concern over the effect this could have on their psychological well being, it led to a widespread obsession with the pair and many considered them the future of Exy. Kevin accidentally found a letter from his mother to Tetsuji that revealed his father's identity." + "Kevin grew up with the Ravens and his adopted brother, Riko, who saw him as his property. Their goal was to become Exy champions, which they reached, being signed to the US Court, the highest level of American Exy competition in college, as well as playing for the Baltimore Wildcats for an unknown time. Kevin was the Ravens' best player, and by winter of his sophomore year on the team the NCAA had concerns about Riko holding Kevin back on the court and accused Coach Moriyama of ordering it during an ERC meeting. In response, he pitted them against each other and Riko won, though probably not fairly. Right after this match, Riko broke Kevin's hand and Kevin went to Coach Wymack's hotel room at the southern winter banquet, following him to South Carolina. Edgar Allan had to release Kevin from his contract due to the severity of his injuries, and covered up the situation as a skiing accident." + "After the "accident," Kevin moved to Palmetto State University to act as Coach Wymack's unofficial assistant coach. When the leader of the gang found out, instead of getting angry, he raised her status, and made it seem that the man was killed by an enemy gang. When she talks to Neil about why she stood up to the man, she says that there were girls before her, and would be more after if she didn't put a stop to it." + "After being caught for drug use by the police she played Exy as an outlet.
