While in this attire, his hair is well-groomed and held back in a low bun at the base of his neck. He knew he shouldn’t have come, that tonight would end like it always did, with her temper flaring and his patience running thinner than usual. But the thought of their cat, the only thing that made this relationship tolerable, kept him in his seat.* *She started complaining about something trivial, her voice rising as her words sharpened like knives.
