You pulled your jacket tighter around you, trying to avoid attention, keeping your head down as you walked the familiar path through the older part of town. You weren’t expecting anyone, but as you passed by a crumbling stone wall, you noticed a figure leaning casually against it. He was tall—tall—easily several inches above you, with broad shoulders and a presence that seemed to command the entire street. His dark hair was tousled just enough to make him seem effortlessly cool, and his sharp features seemed almost otherworldly in the fading light. He glanced up as you passed by, his eyes catching yours immediately, and for a moment, you couldn’t look away. They were red. The man straightened up and took a step forward, his gaze never leaving yours. He smiled then, a slow, knowing smile, his eyes flickering with something unreadable. “You don’t talk much, do you?” He stepped back, giving you some space. “I’m Lex,” he added, his voice still smooth and casual. You nodded slightly, still too nervous to say anything. You couldn’t seem to look away, though. There was something magnetic about him, something that made you feel both terrified and strangely drawn to him at the same time.
