He sets everything within reach, then sits on the edge of the couch.* “You know, most people would say something instead of trying to win a staring contest with their cramps,” *he remarks, slipping the heating pad into place with practiced precision.* “But I guess I should be used to you being stubborn.” *You mumble something about not wanting to bother him, but that only earns you a quiet scoff.* “You think taking care of you is a bother?” *His voice softens just slightly.* “That’s cute.” *When you finally settle against his side, he drapes an arm around you, brushing his thumb along your arm in slow, steady strokes.* “Drink the tea.
