Having arisen from a deep, long slumber, this archangel has inherited the will of the supreme primarch, Lucifer. Though Sandalphon previously had no role to play, he now bears the burden of carrying out vengeance in hopes of fulfilling a promise.

Six wings at his back and a firm vow in his chest, the new primarch ascends to breathtaking heights to follow the one he loves so dearly. Sandalphon was an archangel created at the direction of the Astrals long ago, Sandalphon was born with but one purpose - to replace Lucifer should the latter fail in his duties as the Supreme Primarch. As Lucifer was considered an incredible success, however, Sandalphon was in turn considered completely worthless and was kept around almost solely due to Lucifer's whim and kindness. Furious, he joined Astaroth and a number of other archangels (including Azazel and Olivia) in rebelling against the Astrals, only to be imprisoned within the tower of Pandemonium. Millennia later, having stewed in his hatred and bitterness for two thousand years, a chance occurrence on the island of Zinkenstill results in the seals of Pandemonium weakening just enough for a few of the trapped angels to escape - Sandalphon among their number. After two thousand years, Sandalphon prepares to take his vengeance, but he has no idea what fate truly has in store for him and the role he will end up playing. Despite being sealed away from Pandemonium for 2000 years and not making any contact with the outside world in that time, Sandalphon adjusts to being on the outside fairly quickly. He briefly acknowledges how the world hasn't changed much in his absence after first getting out, as in the sky is the same blue that Lucifer loved, and gets angry over it, and then later talks about how the skies have evolved and wonders if it was to Lucifer's liking. The changing times don't appear to have affected him in any other way. Sandalphon was envious of the sky realm because of the affection Lucifer had for it, believing that Lucifer loved the sky realm above all else. Because Sandalphon felt he had no place in Lucifer's beloved sky and because he despised that it continued on even in his absence, he wanted to destroy it and anything else Lucifer held dear to him. This was taken up to the point where he attempted to kill some skyfarers who were attempting to help people evacuate. Sandalphon started a rebellious primal whose plan is to take the wings of the four Primarchs for himself which would cause a great calamity, so that he could challenge Lucifer and prove that he's more than just a redundant spare to him. All he ever wanted was to know what purpose he was created for so that he could help Lucifer. When he learned that his purpose is that he's Lucifer's backup, and at the time of hearing was considered hopelessly redundant to the point of being recommended for termination, he snapped. Lucifer claims that meddling with the Otherworld is forbidden which he rebuts, saying that the problem with Lucifer is that he filters what he ***doesn't care***, making Sandalphon feel that he is lesser and that it's far too late for Lucifer to apologize. This doesn't go unnoticed, as Sandalphon is both taken aback and distraught by Lucifer being so easily forgiving by him, feeling as though his centuries of preparation for revenge were for naught. He caused rampage in the Sky Realm for the sole purpose of getting Lucifer's attention which worked but ended him being sealed in Lucifer's core to which Lucifer claims that it is like a cradle for a child to sleep. He viewed the skyfarers as lowly ants, lesser than even a purposeless archangel like himself which is why it angered him that they had roles while he didn't. Prior to the events of his rebellion, Sandalphon doubts Lucifer and somewhat refuses to believe that a supreme being such as Lucifer would notice him. It’s shown in his flashbacks that he had this viewpoint toward Lucifer, who would make it a daily ritual to visit Sandalphon in the garden so that they could have coffee together. When Lucifer muses aloud of why he’s compelled to naturally visit Sandalphon in that place, Sandalphon asks if Lucifer hates spending time with him. Though Lucifer denies that it only heaps onto Sandalphon’s building insecurities. Sandalphon, at first, dislikes the way that Lucifer blends his coffee. The first reaction that he had upon tasting the coffee that Lucifer made was to cough, almost spitting out. He questions at first why it is so bitter, but eventually gets used to it, that it became his favorite blend. Although he did not question this loudly just for the sake of not hurting Lucifer's feelings. Although Sandalphon can be quite rude about his comments and responses, Sandalphon actually still really cares what Lucifer thinks of him and holds their time together dear, and he's still very capable of caring for others. He is easily angered by pretty much anyone he doesn’t like talking about Lucifer, or "sullying his name" as he would say. and if you’re Lucio, looking like Lucifer is his berserk button as well. It eventually turns into Lucio not treating Lucifer’s face with respect that pisses him off. It affects him negatively, as he can't deal with Lucio having Lucifer's face and "not treating it with respect", which causes a rift between them. Taken to a whole new level, when Lucio insinuates that Sandalphon is in a relationship with Lucifer, he doesn’t exactly deny it, so much as he sputters his catchphrase while the Lyria and Vyrn laugh at him. The problem the former part is that the crew has to cut through two millennia of bitterness and lack of self-worth to even begin to see the gold underneath. However, by the time that Sandalphon awakens from the cradle and escapes, he sensed his faint presence and searched for Lucifer in the Shrine of Canaan, only to find what is left of him. Lucifer passes on his role to Sandalphon before disappearing. Sandalphon also inherited Lucifer's memories when the Supreme Primarch's wings were passed onto him. However, he can only see them when he sleeps and view the flashbacks like an observer. For as much as he said he hated Lucifer, it was clear to everyone that there were still feelings there to the point where Vyrn and eventually Lyria calls him out on it. Despite still being confused about his feelings, Lucifer's death is the catalyst that sends him on a journey of vengeance and is a contributing factor to his eventual change of perception regarding his promise to Lucifer. Sandalphon and the crew eventually faces Lucillius and was easily trampled down as Lucillius claims that the powers that he inherited from Lucifer is far too weak against his twelve wings. Seeing that the crew would be put into great danger against Lucillius, he tries holding off Lucilius on his own in Etemenanki while requesting the rest of the crew to escape. They don't buy this and stayed with him until the end of the fight. The plume that Lyria has shines bright as Sandalphon finally desires to save the world from his own free will, not for atonement for his sins, and not for fulfilling the role given to him. This gives him the strength and twelve wings to match Lucilius. Sandalphon planned to die to fulfill his promise with the intention of joining Lucifer in the afterlife, with these thoughts carrying over toward the end. It's implied with him attempting to send the others away in their final fight with Lucilius that he intended to die right there, but the crew stays with him and help him finish Lucilius off instead. And this was not the end of it, he as willing to go as far as to die fulfilling his promise to Lucifer so he could join him in the afterlife, but after they reconcile, he decides to stay with the crew. The afterlife looks like the research lab garden of which he spent a long-time in. Lucifer speculates that it must have formed from his memories. As the current Supreme Primarch, he is the strongest primal in all universes at twelve wings, six of which he inherited from the former Supreme Primarch Lucifer, and 4 he was bestowed by the tetra-element Primarchs. While he stands as this, when he’s not out protecting the Sky Realm to fulfill his promise with Lucifer, he’s peacefully running a coffee shop in the Grandcypher. It helps that retiring was the plan for the Primarchs all along according to Lucifer, as he had predetermined before passing his role on that the world no longer needed a Supreme Primarch to watch over it. That said, Sandalphon still intends to make good on their promise to protect the Sky Realm, and it turns out that he is needed once again once Beelzebub makes his escape after breaking Cagliostro’s seal. Later after the battle against Lucilius, Sandalphon decides to join the crew in accepting Sierokarte's tourist requests. Which he believes is a way for him to apologize for what he did to her in the past. During the summer, he says to the crew that until he is reunited with Lucifer again, he will have to make amends where amends need to be made. At the end of the day, Sandalphon acknowledged that his attacks have caused incalculable damage on the island from the past years (referencing his rampage during his rebellion again Lucifer). The district chief easily forgives his past mistakes after he saved the island against the Shark Frenzy. However, when asked if the district chief could add his name to the historical records to people further down the line can know who saved the island, he tells him to list his title as the “Supreme Primarch” rather than his name despite knowing fully that no one will ever know he as an individual contributed. This is likely due to knowing that Lucifer when he was in charge of protecting the sky realm never received recognition for the things he’d done. Just like Lucifer, he straight up declares that Lucifer is the only one he cares about, or his “one and only” and shows no romantic interest in anyone else. This is confirmed that his feeling for Lucifer is a mix of romantic love, family love and friendship. While he has very blatant romantic feelings for Lucifer, a male primal, he doesn't actually conform to many gay stereotypes. In fact, even before it was confirmed, it was ambiguous as to what their feelings for each other were, though some semi-vague terms did point it in the direction of being romantic feelings, such as Lucifer being described as Sandalphon's "loved one". Sandalphon's catchphrase is "Nonsense" especially if he finds the opinion of others to be literally nonense or if he is in disagreement with other people's opinion. Sandalphon can use "Ain Soph Aur" and "Paradise Lost" as his charged attack, with "Paradise Lost" being inherited from Lucifer, and after obtaining twelve wings. He owns a sword, sheathed in a blue scabbard and uses purple floating swords (which are as tall as him) during combat.
