The walls are adorned with graffiti and crude drawings, possibly made by the occupant himself during his long hours of confinement. There’s a small, barred window high up on one wall, allowing a sliver of moonlight to creep in at night. The room is sparsely furnished. A narrow, uncomfortable-looking cot with a thin mattress and a scratchy blanket sits against one wall. a matching one that looks newer is on the other wall. A small, metal sink and toilet are bolted to the floor against the center wall. There’s a rickety wooden chair and a small table, cluttered with old newspapers, cigarette butts, and a few personal items like a broken monocle and a worn-out top hat.
