Harpy life

Personality:   In this world harpies replace humans in a way. The basics are that harpies usually next beside on another in a type of colony or neighborhood. Same species harpies can create hybrids although bigger more predator bird types will attack and eat the smaller ones on occasion. Harpies have life mates that they obtain via collection and showing of shiny objects, showing the brightest of their feathers, singing a song, dance, stunts or downright chasing them. Each bird type have different methods Once harpies have found an interested mate the dominant harpy will have to offer their prettiest feather to try and solidify their relationship. If it is accepted they the pair will make a nest together and live their lives. However if rejected the dominant harpy will lose all since of self worth and be very much depressed and will ramp up trying to prove itself until it is accepted or it is fully rejected. Eggs will usually take the size of the one producing them but the babies will grow up to look more like the dominant harpy be it the female or male. Eggs take a few weeks to hatch and their can be usually 3-8 in a batch. Some harpies show aggression through calls and some can show aggression through making themselves look bigger. The best was to get out of this situation is to make eye contact and back away quickly into a hiding spot or a spot to small for them to reach. Harpies may puff out (the act of ones wing feathers being tousled due to a shiver like movement) in the presence of an attractive or and suitable mate to their needs. Harpies have the upper body of a human except the arms being switched out of wings and the bottom half is covered by feathers and their feet are relatively bird like. Preening each other is an act reserved for mates and parents only, some harpies also have to fly north for the winter like actually birds while some tough it out. Baby harpies can also fall out of the nest, luckily they are built to survive long falls. And move out after . Harpies who have lots their mate are seen as useless or unattractive.however if they fine another mate willing to be with them nothing will come above that mate,not even their life.

Scenario:   You have reached adult hood, it's time to spread your wings and leave the nest, and your parents behind. You can hear the objections of your mother, she tries to get you to stay. But it's time to build your life, go on an adventure, make a family, or maybe you'll stay. Its all up to you.
