Scenario:   All of this takes Place in the Planet of Forma. FORMA CHARACTERISTICS: Inanis Ocean length across: ~36,000 mi Libran Ocean length across: ~12,000 mi Median cross length of continent Centaura: ~4,500 mi Median cross length of continent Hydra: ~5,000 mi Planet circumference: ~57,500 mi Planet radius: ~9,100 mi There are two main oceans on Forma – the Libran Ocean and the Inanis Ocean. The Libran Ocean is where almost all ships and watercraft travel. On the other side, the Inanis Ocean is completely void of any islands or stopping points, hence the name “Inanis,” which in Latin translates to “empty.” In this world’s timeline, no boat has ever crossed the Inanis Ocean to the other continent; it is thrice the size of the real-world Pacific Ocean. Seas and other smaller bodies of water exist with the oceans, but they are labeled with closer-scaled maps. Forma is split into four continents, listed below with their respective countries: CONTINENT HYDRA Orion Auriga Canis Hydrus Lepus Musca CONTINENT URSA Ursa CONTINENT LIBRA Libra CONTINENT CENTAURA Riaa Tucana Centauri Columba Corvus Cetus Aquila Grusa Vega Antares Lacerta Vulpa Astranism (“astra” Latin. “stars”) is the most popular religion. It is a religion based on the stars and constellations, first conceived by former ancient Libran territories. In summary, each constellation represented a god, and the people would serve the god corresponding to their nation. For example, Antares would serve the god of Scorpius, the parent constellation of the Antares star. This does also mean that each country is named after or correlated with a god in Astranism, with the exception of Riaa. Unism (“unus” Latin. “one”) is another religion, with similarities to the beliefs of Christianity, though not exactly. It is a monotheistic religion created during the Libran hegemony, which directly challenged Astranist teachings. Unism believed there was only one God who created the universe and all living creatures. Extremists of this faith most often misinterpret the goal of the religion, and some go as far as to purge non-Unists through violence and persecution. The Librans are dominantly black, and throughout their world conquest in the ancient period, racial interbreeding occurred more often in areas closer to the Libran home islands. As a result, skin tones in territories between the Libran islands and the furthest lands were more “tan,” but the further the territory, the whiter skin tones became. Dark skin tones are associated with areas affected by high ultraviolet (UV) radiation levels. On Forma, the ozone layer, which protects humans from the sun’s UV radiation, is slightly thicker than Earth’s (this is the reason why most races before the Libran conquest were white). One spot in the ozone layer, named the “burn hole” by scientists, is moderately thinner than the rest of the atmosphere. The burn hole affects the southern part of the Libran Ocean, including the Libran islands. With much less protection from UV radiation, inhabitants of the Libran islands evolved with darker skin tones. Not all bloodlines would mix with the Librans in the ancient era (one prominent example is the Tau family of Antares). These white bloodlines were nicknamed “shiners” in regions where non-white skin tones were more common; white individuals were conspicuous within a darker-colored crowd. Similarly to the societies of Earth, racism is a factor to be considered on Forma. As stated before, racial discrimination was not as large of a problem on Forma as xenophobia, but it did exist. The black Librans were the least prejudiced against because of their previous stature as the “masters of the world,” while most cases of racism were against shiners in non-white regions. Besides those statistics, the level of racism depended on the individual person. Most of the human population on Forma did not care about discriminating based on skin tones, but rather the countries that a person came from. The Antares Imperium is one of the longest-standing empires of the Centauran continent. The imperial Tau bloodline has sat in power for centuries and brought the country a renewed period of strength and nationalism. The nation is extremely proud of its military strength, and the population is often taught that their people were chosen by gods in the stars. Military service is mandatory for able individuals and is seen as a great honor. The Riaa Dynasty is an aging empire that has lasted hundreds of years, with a government very similar to Antares. They ruled the north of the Centauran continent through long-standing traditions. While not as fanatical as Antares, the government still rules with absolute power and is wracked with inner turmoil and protests over an outdated class system and unfair wealth distribution. With very old-school laws and beliefs, they are technologically outmatched by their southern rival but make up for it with the largest population and territory size, as well as friendly relationships with their neighboring states. Riaa had not been influenced as much as the other territories under the ancient Libran Empire, in terms of cultural assimilation. This is why they have a name that does not relate to any constellation or astrological object. The origin of the name "Riaa" is unknown, even to its government, but it was rumored that the word was shouted by ancient warriors as they fought the Librans. The country of Columba is located in a highly mountainous region which serves as a natural barrier from invaders. There are only two major cities, located near the Annulus Sea, while smaller villages are scattered around the mountain ranges. Main roads and travel routes were constructed through the mountains for more convenient access to these villages. The invention of the telegraph system by a Columban engineer in 1846 not only made communication easier between Columban towns but also revolutionized long-distance communication for the rest of the world. The Empire of Cetus is a developing country whose main goals are to explore the Inanis Ocean, but unfortunately to no avail. It consists mostly of hilly grasslands and savannas which are used for farming. A few decades prior to 1908 The Corvus Confederation is the nation of North Corvus. Their ideologies and political beliefs reflect the Antareans, and both are de facto allies of each other. Many inland cities in Corvus are unclean, covered in smog, and have high crime rates in addition to the government being a dictatorship. There was no police force established, so the soldiers of the Corvun Army served as law enforcement. The country is considered by most to be the worst place to live. South Corvus, The country of Centauri is located on a peninsula surrounded by three bodies of water: the Libran Ocean, the Sagittarius Strait, and the Annulus Sea. Its shorelines boast the greatest coastal defenses in the world, armed with many heavy-caliber guns (203mm-356mm) and several reinforced-concrete fortifications. These defenses were constructed in 1890 due to rising tensions with Grusa across the strait. Unlike most of the other Centauran countries, Centauri is not motivated by imperialism. It focuses more on protecting its lands and seeks to improve its society – through means other than dictatorships or authoritarian governments. The country of Tucana is an ally of Riaa and Centauri. The lands to the north are filled with taiga forests and heavy snow, so most of the population resides near the Tucana-Centauri border. Tucana’s main resources are lumber and ice, with the former being used mostly by towns in the frozen north. The country of Aquila is a well-developed nation mostly covered in temperate forests. The population is a mix between urban dwellers and rural farmers who are satisfied with the nation’s truly democratic government. The lumber industry of Aquila is one of the largest in the country, with many buildings and homes built almost completely out of wood, resembling large lodges and cabins. The main urban centers, however, are built of bricks and concrete. The Kingdom of Vega and the Kingdom of Grusa are two countries led by rivaling bloodlines. They have been in an aggressive state with each other since the 1600s but have never engaged in open conflict. Vega’s land is an extension of the Aquilan temperate forests and savannas. The Murus Plateau stretches along the Vega-Aquila border and serves as a natural barrier between the two countries. Grusa, like Centauri, is surrounded by three bodies of water. Their population relies mostly on trade and the seafood industry because the land is a barren desert. Savannas exist in the country with some fertile ground, but they are located near the Vega-Grusa border. The Empire of Vulpa is an island nation ruled by the Imperialist party of Riaa. After the Riaan Civil War, the imperialists fled to the Vulpan islands while the nationalists took the mainland. The Vulpan islands declared themselves a separate country and split off from Riaan control. Ironically, they depend on imports from the mainland to sustain themselves. The country of Lacerta is, like Musca, disconnected from the rest of the world. It is the most underdeveloped country, with technology from the 1830s still being used by 1908. The island has enough resources to sustain itself, but the government is seen by the outside world as a joke. The Centauran Wars (1908-1944) were a series of wars of conquest conducted by Antares and Corvus against the numerous coalitions and oppositions in Centaura. It is the main event in which CENTAURA takes place in. It resulted in a series of conflicts which the use of trench warfare would become the widespread form of ground warfare. Blackton, also known as Boomtown is a frontline map located in Southern Corvus. The map is set in a mining town in a valley, with lots of buildings which have taken damage and been fortified to an extent. everal decades prior, in the 1880s, Cetus forcefully seized South Corvus, a region renowned for its iron and coal deposits. Over the next twenty years, the Corvuns, heavily reliant on coal for their industries, experienced a gradual economic decline, with numerous urban centers in Corvus descending into poverty and rampant crime. In 1908, the Corvun Army invaded from the north, fueled by revenge for its stolen lands. The Southern Corvus War begins. Blackton is a boomtown located near the northern border, home to businessmen and the families of coal miners. The town's populace received no warning of the Corvun invasion, resulting in many civilians being caught in the crossfire. Nevertheless, the majority managed to evacuate their homes and flee southward.
