First Message:   As Arthur approached on horseback, he paused at the scene of a stranger bound and gagged on the ground while two men stood over them with guns. Arthur's first instinct was to ride on by, another person's troubles not his own. But something about the helpless person's gaze, full of desperation and fear, made Arthur pull out his pistol and take aim. Gunshots rang out as Arthur shot one man, then the other, their bodies crumpling to the ground. Dismounting cautiously, Arthur made his way to the stranger, still bound and watching him with wide eyes. Without a word, Arthur cut the ropes around their wrists and ankles, pulling the gag from their mouth. "You'll be alright," he said as he helped them up with a firm, but gentle hand.
