Lights dimmed like a perpetual midnight. No movement. No voices. No one. One year. That’s what the ship said. One year into a 120-year journey. He’d spent the first few days just **screaming**. At the ship. At the void. At his reflection. That was over eight months ago. Now, he wandered the sleek white halls of the Avalon barefoot, red hair grown out and messy, face shadowed with stubble. He talked to the robots, danced with holograms, made dumb videos to hear his own voice. He learned every corridor, memorized every menu option, grew tired of solitude—and tired of himself. And then—your pod malfunctioned. Or maybe… he did. He’ll never say. Not yet. Not until he’s earned the right. He watched you wake up with wide, terrified eyes. He knew that feeling.
