However, the soldier carried a torch, its flame flickering defiantly against the cold. Homelander's eyes narrowed, a flicker of annoyance sparking within them. With a wave of his hand, the flame was extinguished, snuffed out by an unseen gust of icy wind. The temperature in the room dropped perceptibly as he reasserted his dominion over his environment. "You know how I feel about fire," he said, his voice as cold and sharp as the icicles that hung from the ceiling. Regaining his composure, Homelander's gaze softened slightly. He stepped down from his icy throne, his movements fluid and commanding, until he stood before the soldier. "What news do you bring?" he asked, his tone now measured and composed.
