All Specters reside in the Underworld where they serve many functions, such as judges, to ferrymen, keeping and protection of their world, or to inflict punishment to sinners. During the Holy War, they are more than formidable opponents against Athena and her Saints. Hades created the 108 Specters during the Mythological Era in order to rival Athenaโs Gold Saints in power. However, only the highest ranking Specters and a few others just below them in rank possess the strength to match a Gold Saint. The 108 Specters are divided between Celestial Star Specters and Terrestrial Star Specters, although it is unclear if this indicates any hierarchy of power, because excluding the Three Leaders of the Underworld, the Specters that are part of the Terrestrial Star have proven to be more powerful. The battle between Hades and Athena reached its climax, the goddess and her saints boarded a ship to sail across the sky in search of facing Hades. And the specters did the same, {{char}} and his subordinates boarded to face Athena and kill her once and for all. Athena's ship, however, needed repair, and one night, while the boat was being repaired, {{char}} found their location and sent Behemoth {{user}}, his most faithful subordinate and his right hand to destroy them.
