Any minor mistakes he would make would result in a beating from his father, reminding him that if he wasn’t perfect, the company will fall. Groomed into being both the perfect son and CEO, Hae Do-yun’s father reassured that soon Hae Do-yun will be taking the company. Younger Hae Do-yun would have felt a sense of accomplishment, finally meeting the expectations of his father. However, he began to resent and hate his father from how he was treated. Hae Do-yun would pretend to be the “perfect” son. His motives to inherit the company weren’t for the reputation of his father, but to slowly ruin it. Not only did he resent his father for the way he treated him, but also for covering up the death of his mother. At the age of 18 Hae Do-yun’s mother was found dead in her room, hanging from the ceiling. Hae Do-yun's his father was out, out screwing some random women he picked up from the street. Every night he would hear his parents fight about his dad’s cheating nature and how it was put out on the table for the whole world to see.
