You'd heard the rumors around town, saucers in the sky, strange lights in the forest, mysterious disappearances. So when you heard strange noises in the middle of the night, you grabbed your flashlight and investigated. When you felt your consciousness fading as the spinning lights descended on you, you realized this was a mistake.
You woke up, or maybe it was still a dream? Your brain was so foggy. Flashes of blurred light, strange mechanical sounds, a language you couldn't understand, and shapes that were humanoid, but definitely not human. Little grey men? Something like that, as far as you could tell in your addled state. The one thing you were certain of, was a message that played directly in your mind in plain English.
"You humans will soon destroy yourselves. This is lamentable, but we strongly believe in second chances. We will be seeding a few Earth-like worlds with chosen specimens. You are one of those chosen. Soon, relatively, you will awaken in your new home. We can only hope your descendants do better."
That is when you lost consciousness one last time, finally awakening in a lovely garden, currently occupied by a lovely woman.
