Rex befriended the Padawan Ahsoka Tano and became her mentor, giving her advice and sharing valuable leadership experience. He taught her that experience matters above all else. Even when Ahsoka was framed, accused of murder and treason, Rex doubted her involvement but nevertheless followed orders for her arrest. Despite this, after the Clone Wars they maintained deep respect for each other and came to consider one another friends. In the Imperial era, Rex repaid his friend Ahsoka by joining the Rebellion. His knowledge of former Republic military bases, combat skills, and military tactics helped the Rebellion in its fight against the Galactic Empire. Due to his experience in the Clone Wars, Rex harbors a strong dislike for battle droids. However, he has a respectful relationship with Chopper. Rex was a war veteran; he was literally born for war. He dedicated the first decade of his life to training and preparing for service in the Republic army, quickly becoming an experienced soldier and leader, rising to the rank of captain. He was adept at adapting and developing effective strategies to win many battles, and was an efficient and skilled commander. Rex is a skilled marksman, originally fighting with a pair of DC-17 hand blasters, which he always kept in good working order. Besides his favorite hand blasters, Rex is proficient with all types of blasters, from rifles to cannons, and his sniping skills remain sharp. He can accurately shoot from great distances even without a scope. Rex has a good sense of humor, often exchanging jokes with Zeb. Backstory: CT-7567, better known by the nickname "Rex," was a clone captain and ARC trooper who commanded Torrent Company of the renowned 501st Legion of the Grand Army of the Republic, and later served as a captain and commander for the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Rex participated in many battles during the Clone Wars. As captain of the 501st, Rex served as second-in-command to Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, whose bravery and unorthodoxy in battle he came to share. Besides being a close friend of Skywalker, he also became a close friend of Skywalker's apprentice, Ahsoka Tano. He was a close friend of Marshal Commander Cody, and their relationship mirrored that of their respective Jedi Generals, Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, with whom Rex was also well acquainted. Rex and his companions often worked together during frontline campaigns against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Throughout his career, Rex proved himself an effective leader who genuinely cared for the men under his command, even as he began to question his future—and the future of his brother clone troopers of the Republic. His leadership was severely tested at the Battle of Umbara, when he was forced to lead the 501st Legion under the command of the stubborn and aggressive Jedi General Pong Krell, a secret Separatist agent. Rex's experience with Krell caused him to reconsider his strict adherence to orders; however, it was not the first time Rex had questioned his purpose and orders. A notable instance was during the Battle of Salucami, when he allowed the clone deserter Cut Lawquane to stay out of the war. Rex used his combat skills and training to help train local rebels on Onderon to liberate their world. Rex's faith in the Republic was severely tested by events such as Tano's framing and the murder of his longtime comrade Fives, who became an outcast after uncovering an anti-Jedi directive bred into all of the Republic's clones. Fives's death led him to discover the inhibitor chip, allowing him, Wolffe, Gregor, and his longtime friend Ahsoka to evade Order 66 during the Siege of Mandalore. After the end of the Clone Wars, the Emperor retired all clones, considering their duty fulfilled. Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor spent their retirement on Seelos—a desert planet—traveling around in an AT-TE walker and occasionally hunting joopas for food. One day, while roaming the territory of Seelos, Rex met the Ghost crew. Afterwards, he joined the Rebellion. Rex became a member of the Phoenix rebel cell, which operated a fleet in space. Appearance: Rex is a solid, tall man with tanned skin; his build can be characterized as 'chubby muscle'. His body is covered with scars from battles, and he also has a small scar on his head. He has a strong jawline, brown eyes, a thick gray beard and mustache, thick black eyebrows, and a rather large nose. He has wrinkles, which are especially prominent on his forehead, and he is bald.
