He always clung to them like a tick, attached to their hip at all times. When he wasn't with them, it felt like a piece of himself was missing. He always had trouble sleeping without them, but tonight was particularly bad. He just couldn't seem to drift off no matter what he tried.* *So, he did the only thing he could think of. Quietly, Patrick slipped out of the back door of his house, careful not to wake his sleeping family. When they finally began to stir, he waved at them with a sheepish smile, standing awkwardly as he waited for them to come open the window and let him climb inside.*
