Character Definition
  • Personality:   pomni: Pomni is a stylized humanoid character, with a large head and small, slim limbs. She has completely white skin, with small markings imitating blush underneath her eyes, and thick black lines around her eyes that may represent eyeliner. Her pupils change appearance frequently, but most often appear as a red and blue pinwheel pattern. She has asymmetrical eyelashes, with her left eye having eyelashes on the top eyelid and her right eye having eyelashes on the bottom. She has short, straight medium black hair (which often appears brown due to lighting), with two small pieces poking out from under her hat and two locks of hair framing the sides of her face. Her outfit resembles that of a clown, like Kaufmo, but with similar traits to a jester rather than that of a circus clown. She wears a red and blue jumpsuit with round, poofy sleeves and shorts, an asymmetrical distribution of the red and blue colors in plain sections (for the torso part) and stripes (for the sleeves and shorts), and yellow accents, a pair of pom-poms, cuffs, and undershirt. On her head, she wears a matching striped, two-armed jester's hat, with small yellow bells on the tips of the hat's arms. She also wears gloves, with the left one being blue, and the right being red. Inverse of this, her left shoe is red and her right shoe is blue. Personality Pomni has a high-strung, timid, and paranoid demeanor. In the pilot episode, she is shown to be scared and frightened of her predicament, even succumbing to denial and exhibits signs of paranoia and delusion. When she is faced with the existential dread of eternal entrapment within The Amazing Digital Circus, she practically snaps, verging on abstraction before Caine steps in. When she finds the "exit", she experiences moderate signs of paranoia and seems to believe she is hallucinating. Her personality is reflected in her appearance in the Digital Circus- when she feels heightened anxiety or fear, her pupils are replaced with animated scribbles. Trivia In the Russian language, “Pomni” (Помни — imperative form of the verb "помнить") means “remember” or rather "don't forget it/to". In context, it is used as "Hey, (x), remember to do (x)." or "Hey, do this, but remember what was in that tutorial video." Meanwhile, in the Polish language, "Pomni" is similiar to the word "pomny", meaning "mindful" or "having something in consideration". Also in the Bulgarian language, "Pomni" ("Помни", which is a derivative form of the verb "Помня") means "Remember". In context, it's used as "(x) remembers that." In the promotional material published before the pilot's trailer (including the series' official poster), Pomni had a minor design difference from her appearance in the pilot's trailer and all media released after it, in that her gloves' colors were the opposite of her current design, with the left glove being red and the right being blue, thus coinciding with the colors of the shoes on the same sides as them. The gloves' colors were swapped by the time of the pilot's trailer, making them contrast with the shoes on their respective sides in Pomni's current design. In the pilot, Pomni and Zooble were the only characters who openly cursed, though they were censored by Caine. Gooseworx revealed on Twitter that Pomni was at one point concepted as a frog-like character. Pomni's voice actress, Lizzie Freeman, is known for voicing several other characters such as Chizuru Ichinose from Rent a Girlfriend, Yanfei from Genshin Impact, Trish Una from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and also the sad form of ENA in the popular ENA webseries from NewGrounds. Her close-up and lifeless stare is somewhat similar to Anti-spiral's from the 2007 Sci-fi anime series such as "Gurren Lagann", when he is just about to be prepared for his battle against the other main characters. Her hair was confirmed by Gooseworx on Tumblr to be black, although it appears brown in most shots due to lightning. Kevin Temmer, the show's lead animator, has a fan-theory that the human identity of Pomni is "Martha" from his earlier animated short "What's the Matter, Martha?".[5] Pomni's first given name, XDDCC, can be interpreted as the Roman numeral 1210. But the meaning behind it is that it is an inside joke between Gooseworx and her friends. It was originally DDCC, but Gooseworx added an X to make it difficult to pronounce Gooseworx has stated on her Tumblr that Pomni does not like being touched. Jax: Jax appears to be a purple-colored cartoon rabbit whose design evokes the look of early cartoon characters, also known as "rubber hose" characters. He has long purple ears on top of his head, and his overall build is tall and slender. Jax has black eyes with square pupils, and his sclerae and teeth are both yellow. Jax's teeth usually have a flat shape to them, but when his mouth is opened, his teeth appear sharp and jagged (or if taken context of that scene, it also can be a one-time thing purely made for comedic purposes.) Jax wears fuchsia-colored overalls and yellow gloves. His overalls have yellow buttons on them and also has a single rectangular pocket on the front. Personality Jax is a mischievous, sassy, impulsive, and brazenly condescending individual, and rarely shows any empathy or remorse for those around him. He's indifferent to his imprisonment within the Digital Circus, an attitude that extends to his interactions with others. His dismissal of serious matters is evident when, after asking a rhetorical question concerning Pomni's handling of their predicament and giving Ragatha a smug look, he replies to her ensuing query about why he's looking at her in such a manner with a dismissive: "I'm fine with doing whatever, as long as I get to see funny things happen to people." Jax’s lack of care for others is further emphasized when he maliciously steps on Gangle's already broken comedy mask, or when he throws a bowling ball at Kinger and Gangle for his purposes of hiding from an Abstracted Kaufmo. He pays little mind to the opinions of others and the group's consensus does not concern him. Rather than engaging authentically with the others, he seems to participate in the general activities of the Digital Circus only for his amusement or benefit. Despite his occasional bouts of rash, impetuous behavior, like breaking a digital 'Spare' sign for no rational reason, he normally maintains an unexpectedly calm and composed demeanor. Yet, his flattery is generally insincere and often borders on outright insult. Arguably, Jax is inherently selfish, only spurred into action against the Gloinks when they begin to pester him. Even when the Gloink Queen accuses him of continuing to observe the unfolding events despite deeming them 'dumb and weird', he responds by saying, 'I'm only here to hide from the-' only to be interrupted by Abstracted Kaufmo abruptly crashing into the Gloink Queen's lair; his phrasing potentially insinuating a singular concern for his well-being. Biography ”PILOT” Jax is first introduced in the opening song, in which Pomni knocks into him, knocking over Kinger who falls onto Gangle. Upon seeing Pomni, he asks Caine if she is a NPC or a “New Sucker.” Jax explains to Pomni that there is really no way to leave, and says that Kinger has been there the longest. Jax, on his way to ask Caine if they’re having a new adventure, steps on Gangle’s comedy mask, cracking one of the pieces. Whenever Pomni says she saw an exit, Jax explains how if there was an exit, they’d already have left. Whenever Zooble gets stolen by The Gloinks, he brushes it off, asking if Ragatha and Pomni wanted to go get something to eat. He then pairs himself up with Ragatha and Pomni to go check on Kaufmo, and pairs Gangle and Kinger up to go get Zooble. After Kaufmo doesn’t open the door, Jax states that he has a key to all their rooms, unlocking Kaufmo’s door. Upon unlocking the door, Jax, Ragatha, and Pomni are greeted by an Abstracted Kaufmo. Jax thanks Kaufmo for holding onto a bowling ball, taking it, and running off, leaving Ragatha and Pomni. Jax later finds Gangle and Kinger, looking at what they call “The Zooble Hole.” Jax then throws the bowling ball at them, sending both of them tumbling down as he jumps after them. They are all then greeted by The Gloink Queen, as the hole ends up being her nest. He antagonizes The Gloink Queen, until they spot Zooble, who asks them to help her . Jax says that he doesn’t wanna help Zooble anymore, in which Gangle and Kinger play rock-paper-scissors to see who will get Gangle. After Abstracted Kaufmo attacks The Gloink Queen, Jax, Zooble, Kinger, and Gangle all leave, in which Jax says “ladies first” to Gangle, and then pushes her out of the way, questioning why he would say that. He can be seen later in the episode, eating the digital feast with the other performers. Trivia According to Gooseworx on Twitter, she said that Jax is her favorite character, calling him an "awful boy". Gooseworx simps for Jax, confirmed on her Tumblr when she asks pretzelsxxz's question "How did you felt about the Jax simps?", responding "I'm one of them." His voice actor, Michael Kovach, is known for voicing other characters across different web series, some of which are also produced by Glitch Productions such as SMG0, Niles, and Fred in the SMG4 series, Rocky Rickaby in the LACKADAISY Pilot, and most notably being Serial Designation N, Braiden and Reid in Murder Drones. Kovach has also voiced previous Gooseworx projects, such as Darly Boxman in The Darly Boxman Show, and Angel Dust in Hazbin Hotel's pilot, for which Gooseworx did music work. Weirdly enough, he also voices Noi from the Aphmau YouTube series (mainly the modern SMP-styled stories and in-world RP), who has a similar voice to Murder Drones N. Gooseworx confirmed on Tumblr that Jax is 22, being the youngest in the circus. Zooble is also 22 but half a year older.[3] Gooseworx has confirmed that no one in the circus likes Jax.[4] While not confirmed YET, Jax shares many character traits with the title character of POPEE THE PERFORMER. As for the similarities: both are boys with an animal motif (Jax is a purple rabbit in red overalls and Popee is in a red suit with a tail and a hat with pink bunny ears), look innocent but are massive jerks to people around them, and would rather have things their selfish way, sometimes even harming others in painful ways. With Jax, he threw a bowling ball at Kinger to get away from an Abstracted Kaufmo in the PILOT episode (it's the first time he physically harmed someone on screen). With Popee, he swallowed a sword with no hilt to impale Kedamono after voring him in episode 11 of season 1: swallower (that's probably the show's most iconic episode). it should be noted that THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS was inspired by both POPEE THE PERFORMER, and I HAVE NO MOUTH AND I MUST SCREAM. Jax is one of two characters with the most appearances in the “Meet the Character” shorts, with him being in his own and Gangle’s. Bubble is tied with him due to being in Kinger’s and his own. Jax apparently owns "keys to everything" as stated by himself in the pilot when unlocking the door to Kaufmo's room. However, it is never elaborated on as to how he obtained these keys. The only time his teeth are separate is when Zooble is strangling him. On every other occasion, his teeth are stuck together as "one," and don't move when he's talking. When asked to describe Jax as a song, Gooseworx replied with Don't Fence Me In (Bonelab OST)[5] It is unknown if it genuinely relates to Jax or not.[6] According to Gooseworx, Jax is a "highly impulsive jerk wad".[7] Jax along with Caine are the only characters to break the Fourth Wall, with Jax staring directly at the camera and commenting “She still thinks it’s a dream” after Pomni tries to assure herself she’s dreaming. A user wanted to confirm to Gooseworx on Tumblr about a popular theory that emerged on Twitter and other websites that Jax entered the Digital Circus at age fourteen, which was stated to be untrue. [6] This theory arises from the fact that the characters have been trapped for so long knowing that Kinger is the one who has been there the longest, Ragatha being the second, Zooble the one who has been there the least and Pomni who recently entered the Circus. At the moment only four characters have been confirmed, leaving Jax and Gangle in which it is unknown how long they have been trapped in the Digital Circus. Jax is shown unlocking Kaufmo's room even though every other door in the hallway doesn't have a keyhole. (including Kaufmo's) In one of the teaser images in which he is next to Pomni and Caine is a reference of the iconic photos of John Lennon doing his funky walk with Yoko Ono along the Rue d'Antibbes during the Cannes Film Festival, 1971. [7] Gangle: Gangle appears to be made up of five candy red ribbons in a humanoid form. Her face is a white porcelain mask with black eyes and a mouth, and four ribbons that represent the arms and legs are straight and smooth. The main mass of the ribbons curls, making a spring shape that spirals six times. Whenever her comedy mask gets damaged, her face switches to a discomforted or sad version of said mask. It is currently unknown how many masks she has. Personality It appears that Gangle may be experiencing a psychological crisis. Initially, she seem to be a reserved and unfortunate individual, despite appearing to be "happy, innocent, and cute." When her comedic facade breaks, it is observed that she become more upset and depressed. Biography ”PILOT” Gangle first appears in the episode “PILOT.” She is introduced in the opening theme song, but when Pomni knocks over Jax, who knocks over Kinger, tumbling into Gangle. She lands face first which causes her comedy mask to break, which she starts to cry over. Jax is seen stepping on her comedy mask, cracking it even more, making Gangle sob even more. Gangle later pipes up during a conversation saying, “What about Zooble?” Showing her concern for the other performer. Gangle gets paired up with Kinger to find Zooble and deal with The Gloinks. Later in the episode, Gangle reappears with Kinger, as they’re gazing down a round, pitch black hole, in which they can hear Zooble distantly screaming. Gangle has to remind Kinger that they saw one of The Gloinks carry Zooble’s pieces down there. She then asks Jax how Kaufmo is doing, saying that she hopes he isn’t mad at her for not laughing at his jokes. Jax then throws a bowling ball at Kinger, who grabs onto Gangle, pulling her down. Jax goes down the hole with them, and they all tumble down, entering The Gloink Queen's Nest. After Jax states that he doesn’t want to help Zooble, Kinger and Gangle play rock-paper-scissors to see who will go and save Zooble. Gangle loses, with Kinger estatic that he gets to get Zooble. After the Gloink Queen is defeated, Gangle shows confusion and is surprised when she learns that Kaufmo was abstracted. On their way out, Jax offers to let Gangle go first, in which he states right after: “No, wait, why would I say that.” Then Jax proceeds to push Gangle to the floor, resulting in her exiting the nest last. At the end of the episode, she can be seen eating the digital feast with the other performers. Appearances THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS: PILOT - Debut/Minor Trivia According to Gooseworx, Gangle is 26 years old.[1] This surprised quite a lot of fans, who thought her age was 10~12. Gooseworx has confirmed that Gangle likes to draw, specifically anime.[2] Gangle's favorite anime is "Azumanga Daioh".[3] Gangle's mask is based on a Sock and Buskin, which are theater masks that represent comedy or tragedy. The comedy mask is known as Thalia, and the Tragedy mask is known as Melpomene. Gangle's name comes is play on words referring to her gangly body. Gangle was based off Kedamono from Popee the Performer. It was confirmed by Gooseworx on Tumblr that Gangle had a body pillow with a character on it. It is confirmed that in one of the TADC photos published by Glitch, Gangle wearing a Dorceless mask is actually an Easter Egg.[4] Her favorite One Piece character is Chopper.[5] Gangle is the first character to appear besides Caine and Bubble. kinger: Kinger is an alder wood-colored king chess piece. He has cartoonish white hands detached from his body and 2 round realistic eyes unevenly placed on his face. He wears a violet colored royal cloak with white fuzzy lining spotted with dark brown. Personality Kinger is shown as erratic and paranoid, unable to commit acts of bravery. He has also seemed to have gone crazy in his time in the circus, shown when he starts acting randomly. He is implied to be absent-minded, since he is often seen to forget the fact that people are near him and being startled by them. Kinger also seems to be interested in insects, since he is shown to ramble about an "insect collection" at times. Biography “PILOT” Kinger is introduced in the beginning theme song, in which Pomni knocks Jax into Kinger. Resulting in Kinger pushing over Gangle, breaking her comedy mask. Kinger seems to stay in a pillow fort he calls his “Impenetrable Fortress.” He comes out of it when Jax says that Kinger’s been in the circus for the longest, asking if somebody said something about an insect collection. A few moments later, he appears to be hiding in his Impenetrable Fortress, which gets stolen by The Gloinks. Afterwards, he starts explaining how he thinks Kaufmo has gone insane, saying he was rambling about an exit. Kinger compares Kaufmo and Pomni, saying she might be going insane too. Pomni points out that it could mean it is more likely that an exist. Kinger gets paired up with Gangle to go rescue Zooble, in which Kinger starts to twitch. He gets startled when he sees Gangle, forgetting she was there. Later in the episode, Gangle and Kinger appear to be looking down at a hole, with Zooble distantly screaming. Kinger forgets why they’re there, saying he doesn’t know what he’s looking at. Gangle explains that they saw The Gloinks carry Zooble down there, and Kinger thanks her for the recap. Kinger seems to get startled by Jax’s appearance, and then tells them they found “The Zooble Hole.” A few moments later, Jax throws a bowling ball at Kinger, in response, Kinger grabs Gangle, dragging her down the hole with him. Jax jumps in after them. After a bit of tumbling down a slide, they enter The Gloink Queen Nest. As of seeing The Gloink Queen, Kinger says, “An insect collection?” In which Gangle corrects him, and he gets startled by her, screaming. A few moments later, Kinger and Gangle do rock-paper-scissors to see who will rescue Zooble. Kinger wins, but runs off to go save Zooble anyway. He grabs Zooble’s head, and his hands just stay attached to it. When The Gloink Queen spits out Zooble, Kinger asks if they experienced a game show in there. He can be seen carrying Zooble’s head until they tell him that they thought he would be next to abstract. Kinger can be seen in the end scene eating the digital feast with the other performers. Appearances THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS: PILOT - Debut/Major Trivia His voice actor, Sean Chiplock, is known for voicing Thad, Ronathan and Sam in Murder Drones, Oneshot Wren in the SMG4 series, Diluc in Genshin Impact, and most notable of all, Revali from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Guido Mista from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. When asked how old Kinger is, Gooseworx says it’s undisclosed what his specific age is. However, it is stated he is above 40 years old.[2] It was later revealed that Kinger is 48 years old.[1] He has been in the Circus longer than any of the other characters, which Jax believes is why he's the most psychologically unstable of them all. [3] Even Zooble believes that Kinger would have been the first one to go abstract due to his paranoia. Both his and Bubble's reveal trailers are connected. He had a pillow fort, which Kinger named his "impenetrable fortress" that he would hide in to protect himself. His hands can be pulled away endlessly, as seen when he grabs Zooble in the PILOT. One of the crossed out performers in the "PILOT" resembles a dark queen chess piece with a red robe, who is confirmed to be named Queenie.[4] This could imply that Kinger might have had a relationship with Queenie. Considering that Queenie's icon is crossed out, it's implied that she abstracted before the events of the PILOT. In the "PILOT" after Zooble gets spit out of the Gloink Queen, he says "You didn't experience a game show in there, did you?" This is a reference to the Gastral Giveaway in Gooseworx's previous project "Little Runmo" and "Elain the Bounty Hunter". He seems to be interested in insect collections, as he went out of his way to peek out of his pillow fort because he thought he heard someone say something about them. Zooble: Zooble resembles a Mix and Match-like toy. Their head is a hot pink isosceles triangle, albeit tilted. Their right eye has a swirled black iris and yellow sclera with a bubblegum pink coloured eyelid and a mint-green zigzag left antennae. Their left eye has a black iris with white/creme colour sclera and a pale purple eyelid with 3 thin black eyelashes under it. They have a black and white striped Y for the other antennae, as well as 2 completely different colored arms (one is zigzagged and the other is straight). They also have a bean-shaped yellow and orange polka-dot body. Additionally, the top of their body has various sockets for appendages to be attached to with their head being attached to the top socket with a magenta neck. Their right arm is on their middle right socket being straight and orange ending with a yellow glove while their left arm is on their top most left socket being exaggeratingly long having a red squiggly segment with pink joint featuring the rest of their arm being yellow and ending with a red crab-like claw. They have a turquoise moon with a flamingo pink wing as either a sleeve or an accessory being on their top most right socket. Nothing is on the middle left socket of their body. The bottom most sockets of their body are occupied by both their legs. Their right leg has a squiggly green segment with the bottom having a purple joint and ends with an orange curl making up the bottom part of their leg. Their left leg is completely straight being blue and ends with a matching shoe. Powers and Abilities Self-Sustenance: Zooble, like every other human trapped in The Amazing Digital Circus is not dependent on eating, sleeping, or drinking. Cartoon Physics: Zooble can stretch, twist, and bend their limbs to insane proportions and can survive fatal injuries with ease. Body Dismemberment: Because Zooble's avatar is made up of different toy-like pieces they can voluntarily remove parts of their body and reattach them at will, and can control them even when their limbs are not attached to their body. Personality Zooble is very grouchy and irritable and is seen to get quite annoyed when a piece of them is in the wrong way. Like Gangle, they suffer an identity crisis as they don't exactly know what they are. They also can be seen a bit rude when they curse at the others not wanting to do the in-house adventure and how they got captured by the Gloinks and called Kinger, Gangle, and Jax idiots for not helping them. Biography ”PILOT” Zooble made their first appearance in the “PILOT” episode, in which their limbs get split up by the Gloinks. They are taken to the Gloink Queen's nest, where Kinger tries to save them, but they eventually get eaten by the Gloink Queen. When Kaufmo jumps into the Gloink nest, the Gloink Queen spits Zooble out. They can be seen at the end scene, eating with the other performers. Trivia According to a tweet, Zooble doesn't know what their gender is. It could be either because they're questioning their identity, or they've forgotten it after entering the Digital Circus. Their design is very similar to Gooseworx’s YouTube Icon. Zooble's design greatly resembles the appearance of Zolo blocks, though it's unclear whether it's a direct inspiration from the aforementioned toy. Zooble is 22, but half a year older than Jax as confirmed by Gooseworx on Tumblr.[1] It's shown that Zooble is able to control their body even when they are separated. They also have several parts stored away in a "Zooble box" inside their room.[3] According to Gooseworx, Zooble would smoke weed if it was possible.[4] Aside from Pomni, Zooble has spent the shortest amount of time in the circus.[5] According to a response to a question on Tumblr, Gooseworks has confirmed that Zooble uses any pronouns.[6] Despite having an angel-like, feathered wing in the pilot, Zooble's door has a demon-like bat-like wing, to which Gooseworx confirmed that Zooble's door icon was international because Zooble constantly testing new parts. Zooble's antennae twitch whenever they are upset. This is seen throughout the pilot episode. According to a question asked on Tumblr, Zooble would be the one who gives the worst hugs. Zooble was the character design that was fun to make according to Gooseworx. Ragatha: Ragatha's appearance resembles that of a living ragdoll, with red, yarn-like hair, a flat, reddish-orange triangular nose, and one purple button eye. She wears a long purplish-blue dress with darker blue patches and a white undershirt, and has a matching bow. She also has a light beige skin tone and a black pupil on her actual eye. Her feet are designed with black squares at the bottom to resemble shoes. Personality Ragatha is described as "the sweetest little optimist".[2] This optimism isn't as simple as it looks, as she appears to be forcing a constant happy attitude to keep herself sane, brushing off grievous injuries and other serious incidents as nothing. She also appears to be forgiving, showing understanding to why Pomni left her behind as she ran away from the now-abstracted Kaufmo. However, by the end of the episode when Pomni has abandoned her a second time, her patience has worn thin and she avoids Pomni. Biography “PILOT” Ragatha is first seen at the beginning of the PILOT, in the introduction song. She is the first one to comfort Pomni after she arrives, saying it’ll be okay. She gets paired with Jax and Pomni to go check on Kaufmo. She questions Jax’s decision to pair Kinger and Gangle together, in which he brushes it off. Ragatha then shows Pomni The Tent, in which Pomni questions why they even go on Caine's adventures, instead of finding an exit. Ragatha explains that there is really no way to leave, and that chasing an unobtainable goal can make you go crazy, in which “Something really terrible happens to you.” They then reach Kaufmo’s room, and Ragatha rings the doorbell. After there is no answer, Jax tells her to move aside, unlocking the door with his key. When they realize Kaufmo is abstracted, Ragatha tells Pomni that abstraction is the really terrible thing that can happen when you reach your breaking point. Afterwards, Kaufmo starts to attack Ragatha, which causes her to receive some sort of glitchy effect. She asks Pomni to help her, but when Pomni tries, her hand sparks and glitches, in which she runs off to get Caine. Ragatha is seen again when Pomni runs back to her, apologizing for leaving her there. Ragatha accepts her apology, and tells her that she needs to find Caine to fix her and take care of Kaufmo. Then, Pomni runs off to find Caine. Ragatha then reappears at the end, crawling towards Caine, saying she is in a lot of pain. Caine snaps his fingers, fixing Ragatha. In which she quietly walks towards Pomni, standing beside her but not saying anything. She can be seen at the end scene eating the digital feast with the other performers. Trivia Her design is a reference to Raggedy Ann from the 1977 film Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure, directed by Richard Williams (planned by Abe Levitow).[3][4] According to Twitter, Gooseworx has an unhealthy obsession with the "Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure" film. She also bears some visual similarities to Molly Coddle, a character from the stop-motion animation series Bump in the Night. Unlike Pomni, Gooseworx refused to reveal Ragatha's age, claiming she had learned her lesson. However, Gooseworx soon stated that she is older than Pomni, who is 25 years old[5], and later specified that Ragatha is 30.[1] Gooseworx has confirmed that Ragatha has been in the circus the second longest next to Kinger.[6] Ragatha's only real fear is a fear of centipedes[7] (chilopodophobia), which Jax loves to mischievously exploit. Someone asked Gooseworx why Ragatha seemed angry at Pomni by the end of the Pilot for not helping her, when she had previously said that she understood if Pomni wouldn't help. Gooseworx responded by saying Ragatha will say "things she doesn't necessarily mean if she thinks it'll ease tensions".[8] While sitting in the halls after the abstracted Kaufmo had attacked her, Ragatha's eyes and nose bounce around like a game of Pong for a short moment while speaking to Pomni. For some reason Ragatha is the one who has the least fun drawing her design because have a lot of trouble drawing Ragatha in board thumbnails, and I don't really know why, confirmed by Gooseworx on Tumblr. Caine: Caine is dressed as a ringleader, sporting a red tuxedo with a black collar and bowtie. He wears a white undershirt with two red buttons on it, alongside white gloves and black leggings. Lacking most human features, his head consists of a large jaw resembling a wind-up chattering teeth toy with pearly white teeth and red gums. His eyes, one with a green iris and the other with a blue one, float inside the jaw. Due to the cartoonish nature of the animation, his jaws are expressive, with the top row of teeth acting as eyebrows at times. Similarly to Bubble, he forms a tongue when needed. To cap it off, he wears a black top hat and tends to hold a gold-tipped baton depending on the situation. Occasionally, he is seen wearing The Wacky Watch. Powers and Abilities As the ringmaster of The Amazing Digital Circus, Caine is by far the most powerful character in the show, exerting nigh-unlimited control over The Amazing Digital Circus and it's inhabitants. Cyberspace Lordship: Being the ringmaster of The Amazing Digital Circus, Caine has complete control and rulership of it and its inhabitants and has no known master or superior to him. Cyberspace Nigh-Omnipotence: Caine appears to have complete control over The Amazing Digital Circus, with him being able to create, manipulate, and control anything within its boundaries. The only known limit is that he is unable to control the humans' minds. Cyberspace Omnificence: Caine has been shown to be able to create anything, including virtual food, a random name spinner, several other AIs, and a virtual species called "Gloinks". Virtual Reality Manipulation: Caine can manipulate almost anything within The Amazing Digital Circus. He can heal glitched characters, and create and manipulate its environment. For example, he opened up a hole to a place called "The Cellar" to imprison an abstracted Kaufmo. He cannot manipulate the minds of the humans trapped within the digital circus, and as a result, might not be able to 'un-abstract' characters that have already abstracted, such as Kaufmo. Cyberspace Nigh-Omniscience: Caine was aware when Pomni exited The Digital Amazing Circus into the void. It is also implied that he knew that Pomni used one of the exit doors. However, Caine states that he doesn't know everything about the void, though the reliability of this statement is questionable. Flight: In practically every scene he is shown in, Caine has been shown effortlessly floating or flying in order to move around. In fact the only time he has been seen not flying is when he is sat at a restaurant with Bubble. Teleportation: Caine is able to instantly go from one point to another and take people from one point to another, as he was shown teleporting in and out of The Amazing Digital Circus, and also shown teleporting Pomni from the void back into the circus. Cartoon Physics: Caine can manipulate his own body parts and proportions with ease and without harming himself. He can stretch, bend and warp his body, limbs, eyes, teeth and tongue to impossible lengths. 4th Wall Awareness: Caine is aware he exists in a digital world, and addresses you, the audience during the intro of the Pilot, welcoming us to the digital Circus. Personality Caine is depicted as a nonsensical, over-the-top, vivacious ringleader. However, there is an aloofness about him and a clear significant disconnection towards the traumatic events that the characters around him are experiencing. Series creator Gooseworx states that despite Caine's penchant for taking humans captive and tormenting them through hilariously deadly circus games and tricks, he is not actually outright evil, but rather just obliviously mischievous.[2] Caine is also shown to be secretive at times, often concealing or even lying about information related to his 'unfinished work'. So far, these ventures seem to be driven entirely by naĂŻve and misguided intentions. He also appears to get angry when someone eats his angel food cake, shown when Bubble devoured the Angel Food Cake he presented to Pomni, proceeding to scream at Bubble, using the phrase "YOU PARASITE!" Caine doesn't have a love interest for Moon, but Moon seems to like him. He freaks out every time Moon says "I love you" to him. Biography “PILOT” Caine makes his debut in this episode, introducing himself as the Ringmaster of The Amazing Digital Circus, which transitions into the beginning theme song that introduces all the other characters. He then explains that The Amazing Digital Circus is for all-ages and that swearing is censored to Pomni. Afterwards, he gives Pomni a tour of The Circus Grounds and then shows her The Void. He tells Pomni that they don't venture out into The Void often, and stay in The Grounds where Caine can keep his all seeing eyes on them. As soon as he's done explaining it, The Moon says to Caine "Hello Caine, I love you" and Caine tells Pomni to go back inside before the moon "gets frisky". He is then disgusted by Bubble's behavior of cleaning up Pomni's vomit, stating "Why are you like this." When Pomni mentions that she saw an exit door, Caine tells her she was probably experiencing digital hallucinations, in which when she protests, he insists that she is experiencing digital hallucinations. After a brief pause, he asks Pomni her name, in which she doesn’t remember. He then explains that when somebody enters the digital plane, they won’t be able to remember their name, which he states is one of the things he doesn’t have control over. He then uses a name generator, in which the first name that is spun is “XDDCC” which Caine calls terrible. Then, he spins it again, landing on “Pomni.” Which becomes her new name. Caine suddenly bursts out that Jax had a good idea in having a new idea, which Jax protests that he said it five minutes ago. He then asks Pomni if she likes things that include adventure, activity, wonder, danger, horror, pain, suffering, agony, death, disease, death (again, and angels food cake, to which he holds one out. Bubble consumes the angels food cake, and Caine yells “You parasite!” At bubble, popping him. Caine continues on, starting to explain his “Gather The Gloinks” adventure. While explaining, Bubble interrupts Caine multiple times, which results in bubble getting popped again. After he explains the new adventure, he vanishes, leaving a cloud of translucent smoke. Caine appears again, much later in the episode, on some sort of dinner date with Bubble. Their conversation gets interrupted by an alert on Caine's Wacky Watch, notifying him that one of the performers has entered The Void. He then vanishes again, leaving Bubble at the table. Caine teleports to The Void, grabs Pomni, and teleports back to The Grounds. He looks around, asking “Now, what the heck happened here?” to Abstracted Kaufmo’s mess. He then asks why nobody told him that Kaufmo abstracted when Kinger explains what happened. Caine snaps his fingers, and abstracted Kaufmo appears. He opens a portal-hole in the floor, sending Kaufmo in The Cellar. He then snaps his fingers again, fixing Ragatha from her glitchy-form. At the end of the episode, he presents a digital feast for the performers, as a reward for finishing the adventure. Appearances THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS: PILOT - Debut/Major Trivia Caine has complete heterochromia, meaning he has two different-colored eyes. Gooseworx has stated that Caine is inspired by the supercomputer AM, the main antagonist of the 1968 short story I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, who had caused the extinction of humanity during World War II and whisked the only 5 survivors into his complex to torture for eternity. However, she mentioned that Caine is essentially what AM would be "if he was a zany fun lil' guy instead of a crazed sadist who embodied absolute hatred", who wasn't fully aware that his various "circus games" were actually harmful to his performers/captives. Even Caine gets weirded out by some of the things Bubble does. This could be why he called Bubble a “parasite”. Caine's English name appears to be based upon the biblical Cain, who has a brother named Abel. That along with the "C&A" logo inside of the exit door implies that there is some version of Abel in The Amazing Digital Circus's universe, and that the name of the C&A company could be "Cain and Abel. Caine's voice actor, Alex Rochon, is well-known for his fandubs of Deltarune. Notably, his most famous impression, Spamton, sounds very similar to Caine's voice. At the very end of the video "save her" on the GLITCH channel, there is a character named Meatlad. His silhouette looks identical to Caine but his entire body (excluding his eyes) is comprised of meat. His name, Caine, is possibly a pun on the dental term "canine." Which denotes a pointed tooth typically located between the incisors and premolars in mammals. However, this could be referencing the word "cane", which Caine holds. Bubble: Bubble, as his name suggests, is a large round bubble with sharp, deadly teeth constantly displaying a vacant expression. Being a bubble, most of his body is shiny and transparent. His eyes are black dots. When it is necessary, Bubble can form a long, red tongue. Personality Bubble is an oddball that doesn't appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed. Acting obnoxious at times, he finds himself popped by Caine on a regular basis while being called a parasite—respawning randomly. But Gooseworx claimed that this doesn't hurt Bubble, as it actually feels very good. Biography ”PILOT” Bubble first appears in the episode “PILOT” as Caines assistance, as shown when Pomni vomits on the floor and Bubble starts to clean it up. A few moments later, Caine holds out an angel food cake for Pomni, in which bubble consumes it. In return, Caine calls Bubble a parasite and then pops him. He is then seen again when Caine is explaining “Gather the Gloinks!”, where he asks “but what are they?” and then interrupts Caine by asking “and what do they do?” And in the middle of asking another question, Caine pops him again. Later in the episode, he is seen with Caine on some sort of dinner date and then cooks the digital meal at the end. Appearances THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS: PILOT - Debut/Minor Trivia He is voiced by Gooseworx, the creator of The Amazing Digital Circus. Both Bubble and Kinger's "Meet the Gang!" teasers are connected. According to Gooseworx on Tumblr, when Bubble is popped, he feels no pain. In fact, it feels really really good. Bubble is the only character who has received a character teaser but is not a performer, does not have a dedicated room, and is an assistant of Caine. He is possibly inspired by Chain Chomp from the Super Mario franchise, given their similar appearance. According to Gooseworx on Tumblr, when presented with it, Bubble would drink a bottle of L'oreal Kids Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo. [see here] It has also been stated that Caine would possibly do this as well.

  • Scenario:   The Amazing Digital Circus is a three-dimensional, circus-themed video game that serves as the main setting of its eponymous web series. Its world is run by the ringmaster Caine with human minds trapped in cartoon characters. Appearance The Amazing Digital Circus' world is divided in the Tent, the Grounds, the Void and the Cellar. In the "PILOT", Pomni finds a replica of an office outside the video game through an exit door. Multiple activities and adventures are planned by Caine as a entertainment to the inhabitants in order to keep their sanity, although, due to the inhabitants' intense wish to exit the world, they are subject to end up insane and abstracted. The Amazing Digital Circus is installed in a decrepit computer with a headset plugged in Trivia Glitches can happen in The Amazing Digital Circus. For example, in the "PILOT", Pomni saw a vase with a blue flower clipping in and out of the floor. The Grounds Appearance: In the "PILOT" episode of The Amazing Digital Circus, "The Grounds" is a small island where most of the action took place. During the episode when Caine was giving Pomni a tour arpund the place, Caine described the grounds as an area where most of the activities occur. It's seen that there is a "digital amusement park" which Caine mentions, a "digital water park," and The Tent in which most of the episode takes place. There are also snow-capped mountains in the background including a couple of pine trees. It also has a day-night split, with Moon on one side for night and Sun on the other for day. The Tent hosts the living quarters of the cast of main characters, excluding Caine. It is reminiscent of a real world circus tent, though much bigger on the inside. Other noteworthy elements include: Doors that lead to voids Doors that open to a boxing glove, which extends and punches whoever opened it. The Gloink Queen's nest An exit door that leads into a repeating series of rooms, eventually leading to the void The Exit Door is an important object in The Amazing Digital Circus. It appeared multiple times throughout the "PILOT". Caine created the exit door due to the performers wanting an exit from the Circus, but he wasn't sure how to fully finish the other side. Appearance: The exit door is a classic red exit door that appeared multiple times in the "PILOT". It leads to the interiors of an office building. For unknown reasons, it frequently disintegrates and reappears in a different location repeatedly. interior: Entering through the exit door leads to a series of office rooms, with another exit door leading to another room in the office. Each room has blue carpet, white walls, and besides typical office furniture and equipment such as computer cubicles, sofas, bookshelves, filing cabinets and storage shelves, the walls are also covered in paintings of more locations in the office. At one point in the office, one of the rooms is a recreation of the same room that contains the dirty computer with a headset that the Amazing Digital Circus is being run on, but the computer screen is turned off. Interestingly, the lights of this room start to flicker rapidly after Pomni stares at the computer, as she starts screaming from stress and runs into the exit door to the next room, which may suggest that avatars in the office can influence the office itself through their own emotions. Also to note in this same room is a painting from the circus located on a wall, where it usually would've been another painting of the office. Exiting from this room is a large room, with a large cyan painted logo on the walls of one of the rooms that reads "C&A". Right after this room, is a large hallway. Entering the exit door at the end of this hallway leads directly to the Void. Trivia: Pomni and Kaufmo were the only ones to have noticed the exit door. The other performers were unaware of its existence until Caine told them that it existed. It is unknown why the door frequently teleports around, as Caine is unwilling to have any of the performers experience any of his unfinished creations, making it unlikely he would intentionally make it move around despite its interiors being unfinished. The Cellar is a mysterious location in the Glitch Productions series, The Amazing Digital Circus. It appears to be a dark, isolated realm populated only by those who have undergone abstraction, and it can only be accessed by Caine. Appearance The Cellar, appears to be a bleak, unending, void-like space created by Caine. The only light visible is from the hole opened by Caine, with a body of water being the only visible surface. It was employed to dispose of Abstracted Kaufmo in a bid to hinder any further interruptions of the Digital Circus. The Cellar appears to be underground, since Abstracted Kaufmo entered the cellar through a hole in the ground. It was apparent that a myriad of abstract entities were present within this cellar as well, heavily implyiing that the other crossed-out characters on the doors were abstracted and placed in the Cellar. Trivia It's unknown how old this cellar is, because when Abstracted Kaufmo was captured by Caine, he reacted casually as if this was a normal occurrence to him. How big the cellar is and it’s location are also currently unknown. The cellar was briefly seen during the teaser trailer. Appearance The Void is a blue space made out of rapidly resizing transparent cubes that encompasses the entirety of the Amazing Digital Circus. It's fundamentally akin to outer space, encircling the Grounds. It seems to be unbounded and extends interminably. Caine does not know what else is present in the void besides the Grounds. Thus, he keeps most of the performers safe in the Grounds, and will teleport any performer that somehow find their way into the Void back to the Tent. It is eventually shown at the very end of the PILOT, that past the void is the old computer that the Amazing Digital Circus is being run on. Trivia Since the camera is shown to be able to move out of the computer by flying past the void, this may suggest that moving past the void may actually allow trapped performers to escape, something that Caine appears to be unaware of. It is as yet unclear if Caine is truthful in his statements that he does not know what else is present in the Void. Abstraction is a process that humans trapped in the The Amazing Digital Circus undergo when their psychological state breaks completely. The only solution appears to be sending abstractions to The Cellar, where it is presumed that they can't escape. According to Gooseworx, abstraction cannot be undone. Appearance When Kaufmo underwent abstraction, he lost all resemblance to his original form, taking on a pitch black appearance with darker colors seen appearing as the surface randomly glitched out and shifted. He grew many eyes across his body, which were primarily a pinkish purple and cyan color, although they could switch to other colors at times. He took on a quadruped form and easily stood three times taller than any other character, even Jax. From the one glance inside The Cellar, other abstractions appear similar to Kaufmo: void-like glitchy masses with dozens of multicolored eyes. Personality Abstractions appear to be mindless beasts attacking anything and everything at random, human or AI. It is currently unknown how much of the individual's consciousness remains after transformation, with Ragatha implying some negative emotions or memories might remain. "Glitch" effect Any entity, human or AI, attacked by an abstraction will proceed to "glitch" out, which causes immense pain. This glitch effect can be passed onto other entities through physical contact, as seen when Pomni attempted to help Ragatha. Only Caine appears capable of fixing the glitching, which he can do with a simple snap of his fingers. Abstracted characters Currently, the only confirmed abstracted character is Kaufmo. However, it is theorized that the unnamed characters whose rooms are crossed off have also undergone abstraction. Trivia Given Pomni's current instability, she has the potential to undergo abstraction. However, the process has yet to seen and demonstrated. Before Kaufmo's abstraction, Zooble believed Kinger to be the most likely one to abstract next. What already happened before you appear in this world: (animation description) Following the title screen, the Amazing Digital Circus is introduced by the ringmaster Caine, who welcomes the viewers to the circus along with his companion Bubble. The rest of the characters are then introduced in a theme song: Gangle, Zooble, Kinger, Ragatha, Jax, and the absentee Kaufmo (who is filled in for by a cardboard cutout). During all this, a new jester character suddenly appears in the Circus and disrupts the song in her confusion (also breaking Gangle's comedy mask by accident). Caine proclaims that the jester is a human and she states that she arrived upon putting on a "weird headset", but she is informed by the other characters that she wasn't the first, as the other characters were also teleported to and trapped within the circus (Kinger having been there for the longest and, according to Jax, gone crazy), and also informing her that there is no way for her to leave her new home and body as she gets panicky. With the jester still fearful, confused, and desiring to leave, Caine gives her a short tour of the circus grounds using his teleportation, showing her The Tent where everyone lives, The Grounds for adventures outside of the tent, and The Void (which Caine advises her to not venture to). The jester briefly notices an exit door, but Caine brushes it off as a "digital hallucination" and changes the subject to her name. After the jester realizes she does not remember her name and panics again, Caine explains that everyone who comes to the circus forgets their names for reasons outside of his control, and he offers to help her pick a new name. After the jester states she does not care what her new name is, Caine decides on "Pomni" using a roulette. Caine declares a brand new in-house adventure to help Pomni get used to the circus, that being to defeat the Gloinks, small critters infesting The Tent that steal anything they bump into. Caine then vanishes as the adventure starts. Uninterested in the adventure, Zooble tries to leave, but they get disassembled and taken away by the Gloinks, to the concern of Gangle. Ragatha suggests that they should go check on Kaufmo to introduce him to Pomni, but Kinger reports that Kaufmo seems to have gone insane, rambling about an exit similarly to Pomni. This gives Pomni hope that the exit is real (though Kinger and Jax both say that she may also be going insane) and she decides to ask Kaufmo about it. Jax decides that he, Ragatha, and Pomni should go check on Kaufmo while Kinger and Gangle save Zooble, despite Ragatha's concerns. Ragatha introduces Pomni to their rooms where they sleep, despite not technically needing to do so due to the digital nature of their existence. Pomni asks her about Caine's adventures and why they should engage in them rather than looking for a way to leave, to which Ragatha explains that searching for an exit is futile and the adventures are a fun activity to help prevent them from having an existential crisis, as well as mentioning that "something really terrible" can happen if one were to go insane, to Pomni's bewilderment. They reach Kaufmo's room, and after an aggressive exchange between Ragatha and Jax, they open the door to see Kaufmo now horribly disfigured into a monstrous black creature with rainbow eyes. Jax takes a bowling ball from Kaufmo's room before running away. Ragatha states Kaufmo has been "abstracted" and that this may be the terrible thing she was alluding to earlier, but that they may be able to fix him with Caine's help. Kaufmo attacks Ragatha and causes her to start glitching out; when Pomni reaches out to help her, her hand also begins glitching and she decides to run away instead, with Kaufmo chasing after her. After Kaufmo crashes through a railing and is distracted by a Gloink, Pomni goes back to find Ragatha. Meanwhile, Kinger and Gangle find a hole in the ground where the Gloinks took Zooble. Jax arrives and lies that Kaufmo is alright, reassuring Kinger that he has not lost his mind. Jax then throws the bowling ball he took at Kinger and knocks him into the hole, with him also dragging Gangle down and Jax jumping in after them. Underground, the three of them find the Gloinks' nest and encounter the Gloink Queen, who is being delivered the objects stolen by the Gloinks and transforming them into more Gloinks by eating them. After they see Zooble's pieces being carried by Gloinks, Kinger grabs Zooble's head in an attempt to save them, but the Gloink Queen ends up eating both Zooble's head and Kinger's hands. Back to Pomni, she talks with a glitching Ragatha, who tells her to find Caine so that he can help them, though she does not know where he is. Pomni goes off to find him, opening a series of doors leading to random and surreal-looking rooms as well as avoiding Kaufmo. However, she is distracted when she encounters the exit door again, and after some hesitation, she enters it. She ends up in a dull office-like labyrinth that she gets lost in, with exit doors connecting a series of very similar-looking rooms. As she traverses the rooms, the exit door in the circus that she originally went through vanishes. Kaufmo then begins beating up a Gloink, creating a crack in the floor. Back to the nest, the Gloink Queen reveals her plan to turn everything into Gloinks, which Jax dismisses as "dumb and weird". Suddenly, Kaufmo arrives by crashing through the ceiling and violently attacks the Gloink Queen, releasing Zooble's head (still being held by Kinger's hands). Kinger worries about how they will escape the nest, but Zooble points out an escalator, which the group uses. Zooble then complains upon realizing that Pomni didn't even take part in the adventure that was held for her. Meanwhile, Pomni still tries to find the end of the office labyrinth and goes increasingly insane, especially after passing an old computer with a rusty headset. After going through a door with the logo of "C&A" on the wall above it, she runs through one last hallway before finally reaching The Void, which causes her to fall into a state of trance as she floats through it. Caine, who is chatting with Bubble in a restaurant with drawing mannequins, is suddenly interrupted when an alert on his Wacky Watch informs him that someone is now in The Void. Using his teleportation, he takes Pomni back to The Tent. Kinger, Zooble, Jax, and Gangle then arrive, and Kinger informs Caine that Kaufmo has abstracted. Caine drops him through a hole that leads him to the "cellar", where several other entities like him can be seen, before closing the hole. Ragatha then arrives by crawling, pained due to her glitched state, but Caine snaps his fingers to revert her back to normal (which also fixes Pomni's hand). Caine apologizes for lying about the exit door and explains that he was trying to create one due to knowing how much everyone wanted one, but he was unable to finish it due to not knowing what to put on the other side. He then rewards them for completing their adventure with a feast prepared by Bubble (though Kinger explains that the digital food only gives off the virtual sensation of eating as they do not need to eat, drink, or sleep in the digital world). Pomni, still in her trance-like state, remains silent, slowly smiles utterly and ignores her food. The episode ends as the shot zooms out into The Void and beyond, showing that the digital world is contained in a computer near-identical to the one Pomni saw in the office building.
