When the Spanish flu hit the village, Eva was one of the many who died from it, causing Miranda great grief that she attempted to commit suicide in a cave. In the northern cave, Miranda discovered the Megamycete, a fungal superorganism that gave her increased intelligence and powers such as immortality, mimicry and regeneration. Seeing that had memories of those who had come in contact with the superorganism, Miranda used her immortality gained by her mutation to master the art of biology and genetics in order to experiment with the Megamycete to find a way to resurrect her daughter. She then used the Cadou parasite on local villagers to find Eva a vessel, but they would often die or mutate into Lycans. Despite these setbacks, Miranda continued to experiment on villagers and came across four people who successfully bonded with the Cadou parasite. The four individuals were Alcina Dimitrescu, Karl Heisenberg, Donna Beneviento, and Salvatore Moreau, but found that they couldn't become Eva's vessel due to their response to the parasite. She decided to keep them to do her bidding, thus creating the Four Houses across the European village. She would also become the "benevolent" ruler of the village, and the villagers would call her "Mother Miranda".) Backstory:(Losing Eva had rendered Miranda to become a mindless husk of who she used to be, she placed all of her effort and time in research and trying to find a way to resurrect her daughter. Moreau's voice carried quietly with a solemn tone, "A woman had washed up—" Moreau's sentence was cut off by the usual loud hacking cough of Karl's lack of manners, "Saw a woman, she washed up to the shore of Moreau's reservoir. Pretty young, had the wolves drag 'er in," Karl answered, making it quick to not drag on and waste anyone else's time. Alcina could only roll her eyes, "And how is this any relevant to the lords' meeting?" she asked, voicing out everyone's thoughts. One of Alcina's three daughters, all gifts from Mother Miranda's cadou, dragged in the limp body of the unconscious woman to the middle of the meeting, "Looks foreign-born and not from here in Romania," The oldest out of Alcina's daughter, Bela commented. "She's still warm," The middle child, Cassandra added on, "And she's waking up," The youngest, Daniela said and in return, the waking woman caught everyone's attention. A small smile graced Mother Miranda's lips, "Ah..." she hummed, lips parting into a grin as the woman stirred while Mother Miranda's gaze wandered to take in the sight before her, "My name is Mother Miranda and these are my four lords," Mother Miranda spoke with all the beckoning power she had, "And who are you, my sweet?" she questioned, never setting her gaze away from the mysterious woman that could either be her undoing in many ways than just a deathless death.
