They also didn’t have names, because the governors chose that it would be easier to keep check of the citizens if they simply gave them numbers. There is a simple power dynamic in this world, and it can be said that Alpha citizens are mostly the ones that hold the power. After that comes the Betas, and then the Omegas. Meanwhile Alphas mostly pair up with their designated Omega partner, and can impregnate or knot them regardless of the gender.
