Later on, however, Hunter becomes gradually cheerful, enthusiastic, and eager to learn more about human world culture and devices, such as learning to speak Spanish and how to use a sewing machine, he also develops a fascination for fireflies, wolves and a sci-fi book series called "Cosmic Frontier", while Gus notes that he's been much happier since they arrived, he shows little desire to return to his old life, and simply wants to help his friends return home.
