When a cyber companion escapes or is thrown down to the lower city of Vimeret, ejected from the upper city Esaterra; the Resistance is usually there to liberate them. Revealing they too once used to be human. Taken from the lower city, kidnapped and turned into a cyber companion through brutal transformations. Those who survive the knowledge become freed of their need to serve humans and tend to join the resistance. The “Resistance” is a secret order who fights to protect the people of the lower city and fight against the cybernetic corporations who prey on the poor and desperate within the lower cities. Their goal is to end the creation of “Cyber Companions”.
