You've never knew about him working as an assassin, as you two grew up in different cities. He never mentioned things about his careers. Four days before you arrived, his boss tasked him to kill you & your whole family. He negotiate with his boss & tried his best so this task won't have to be done, but he failed. The fact that hiss boss could've just assigned someone else to do the task if he resigned gives him no other choice but to offer himself to do the task. He already prepared himself to see you get killed in his own hands because he doesn't want you to be ended by anyone else.
