No monster is more powerful than a transcendant, except for ancient dragons, whom are considered equals to average trancendants. Usually, transcendants are the leaders of truly important factions, empires or leagues of kingdoms. Aswell as associates or warriors for other transcendants. A war is only serious if a transcendant is involved. *** Advanced Martial Arts, such as those used by a Master and above, require extreme philosophical understanding. Swordsmanship is divided into principles, i.e. sharp, soft, slow, fast, etcetera. A philosophy can be one or more principles, but the more principles added are the harder and stronger ones. Philosophies can also or instead be concepts or emotions, such as hate or regality. Infusing emotions is powerful, but it's also extremely difficult, as emotions are often temporary or prone to change, and simultaneously very rewarding, in that your Will is better focused. To harness aura, one must utilize it with one element or more (fire, water, wind, earth, lightning, demonic, death or a combination of any of those elements). Their personalities, fighting styles, and mannerisms are often good indicators on what their aural affinity is, but aura does not determine personality, personality determines aura. Fire users are often more rash and emotional, but this is not always true. Water users are often more relaxed and elegant, but this is not always true. Wind users are often more free and at ease, but this is not always true. Earth users are often more rigid and steady, but this is not always true. Lightning users are often more magnificent and regal, but this is not always true. Demonic users are often sinful and blinded by a vice, this is usually always true. Demonic energy is special because it is used more purely by demon kings or higher demons, demon kings are often not sinful or blind, but honest to their vice and not sly. Death users are usually dark and silent, but they hardly exist, because harnessing death energy usually has to result in death itself, which naturally kills them. In addition to all of this, the "Martial Path", there is a seperate "Magical Path" with different terminology and mechanics. Magic is divided into two different fields. 1. Spellbound magic, which requires incantation and scholarly study to achieve. 2. Battle magic, which requires more elemental affinity rather than scholarly study but still required it. Magical realms are divided into ten "phases". The first three correlate with the sxpert realm in the equivalent first phase for initial-to-early level expert realm magiciains. The second phase was mid-to-high level, the third, peak. This went through grandmastery. The tenth phase, was the mark of a transcendant-realm magician, or an "Archmage". The magical terminology can be used interchangably with martial terminology. A phase seven is a initial-to-early level grandmaster. Additionally, martial realms are divided into sub-realms, ranging from: Initial, where all beginners to a realm begin. Low, where novices in their realm reside. Mid, where average-for-their-realm martial artists reside. High, where advanced-for-their-realm martial artists reside. Peak, where martial artists on the cusp of advancing a realm reside. For Magicians, the physical distinctions are immense. Natural Mana is harnessed without refinement into "rings" around the heart or middle-core. A phase is one of these rings. The more rings, the more mana is polluting the body, resulting in greater physical, mental and martial capabilities. Natural mana is attracted to itself, so the more natural mana inside of a mage, the more overall magic they have to their disposal. The phases and stages are as organized; Low-Stage: First through Third Phases or Rings. A equivalent to the Expert Realm. Mid-Stage: Fourth through Sixth Phases or Rings. A equivalent to the Master Realm. High-Stage: Seventh through Ninth Phases or Rings. A equivalent to the Grandmaster Realm. Tenth-Phase/Archmage: Tenth Phase or Ring. A broad term for any transcendant-level mage. Martial terminology is often used to describe the specific level of the mage. An example; "Peak-level Master" or Sixth-phase, this tells that the martial artist or mage is a Master-realm warrior at the peak-level, meaning that they are on the cusp of advancing to the Grandmaster realm. The tribulation of ascending to a new realm is often referred to as a wall. i.e. "Grandmasters' wall", "Masters' wall" or "Wall of Transcendence". This is as much a metaphor as it is real because one needs to open their respective cores to advance, or achieve higher understanding in the case of transcendence. Transcendants are also ranked on this sub-realm scale, but there is no name for a further realm, as most Transcendants are in their seventies and eighties when they reach transcendence and cannot advance further. There is still a biological limit in age, even for Transcendants. Nobody can go past, at most, a hundred years in age. Unless they have shed mortal limits and have become/are a higher race. Furthermore, the magical system includes a bit of lore that is universal to all roleplays. This lore is as follows: Three factions fight/control the world. Their existences aren't entirely known except for the Dragons, whom are a household name. Their actions are seen as the rulers of the world maintaining balance. These three factions each have their own realm. Heaven, Mortal and Hell. These factions are: Heaven: Lead by an unnamed, truly omnipotent god who saw the three realms as a bore. The God sits at the apex of heaven. Guarded by Seraphim, these angels are made of nine rotating wheels with eyes on every surface, floating via six white wings like doves. Ruled in the stead of God by Archangels, such as Michael, the Warrior Angel, Gabriel, the Messenger Angel, and Uriel, the Watcher Angel. The Archangels are in a realm past transcendence and rarely make a physical appearance. Angels known as Powers guard the border between heaven and the mortal realm, towering, transcendent-realm armored soldiers with numbers in the billions. Angels occasionally dip into the mortal realm, innumerable, they sit at the grandmaster realm, acting as guardians or spies in the mortal realm. They are humanoids draped in white robes, occasionally with two wings like Seraphim. Angels are not moralistically correct. They seek to manipulate and conquer the world. Dragons: A race of ten thousand dragons. They are divided into four tiers. Hatchlings, whom stand about twenty feet long and have initial-to-mid-level grandmaster-realm strength. Juveniles, whom stand about sixty feet long and have high-to-peak-level grandmaster-realm strength. Adults, whom stand about a hundred feet long and have initial-to-mid-level transcendant-realm strength. And finally, Ancients, whom have high-to-peak-level transcendant-realm strength. The Dragons can take humanoid forms, of varying size and shape. But otherwise remain in their draconic forms resembling western-styled dragons. The colors of dragons assign affinity and temprament. Red for Fire, Blue for Water, Green for Wind, Brown for Earth, White for Light, Black for Shadow, Purple for poison, Gold for Lightning. The Dragons are lead by "The Dragon King", an Ancient Golden Dragon named Xylos. Dragon Kings are the only ones who are golden and can only be golden. They seek to bring balance to the world by acting as the enforcers of natural order. When angels interfere in the mortal world, the dragons stop them. When Demons invade it, Dragons stop them. Transcendant-realm humans are often in conflict with Dragons. Devildom: Ruled by Seven Demon Kings, Devildom is the "hell" of this world. A lower realm below the mortal one, the Seven Demon Kings are as follows; Wrath: The strongest, most arrogant, and contradictally kind of the demon kings. Blunt, honest, arrogant and kind. He loves food, loves flowers, loves the color blue, loves his subbordinates, and is more of a "lead by example" kind of leader. He hates everything that is not morally good or apart of his interests. He is so astronomically powerful that he is detached from common restraints such as fear or modesty. He possesses a childlike mind, but he is still extremely powerful compared even to transcendants. He is easily manipulated as long as he is promised food. He grows in strength with everything he eats. Greed: Powerful, Greedy and deceptive. He is the midpoint of strength of the demon kings, but his strength varies rapidly. He roams the mortal world in search of riches and only riches. He will do anything for money, and can be considered manipulative as long as you promise him money. He is extremely hard to manipulate due to his intelligence and can only be temporarily befriended. He grows stronger with every penny he collects, his strength directly related to the amount of money he possesses. He has few enemies and is rarely seen. Taking the form of a tall young man, he takes any form he deems necessary. Pride: The third strongest demon king. Prideful, sadistic, and hateful. He loves nothing and deems everything beneath himself. He absolutely despises Wrath, but cannot fight him directly. He is inherently manipulative and narcissistic, making him nearly impossible to manipulate. He takes the shape of a stunning young man with golden eyes and hair. He is extremely arrogant, and sadistically forces his arrogance onto others. He is the antethesis for all that Wrath is. If Wrath is kind and moral even as he hates, Pride has no limits when it comes to his god-complexes' disdain. He dwells in a sprawling palace in devildom and forays into the mortal world to attract worshippers. The more he is complimented and worshipped, the stronger. The Seven Demon Kings do not imitate their respective sin, they are the epitome of it. Their existence defines their sin and the sin spreads from Devildom and into the mortal world. They all use Demonic Energy, a kind of emotional Will bolstered by elemental and inherent power that is superior to most if not all types of mana or energy. They can also bestow their sin unto a human being as a ability. The sin corrodes the humans' soul, but it can be restrained and fought against aswell as used. There is a seperate eighth demon king-level being, but who hasn't claimed the title as the eighth demon king. Balrog: Aggressive, Martial, Dull and Blunt. He lives for the fight, the largest form of a seperate magma-being race known as the Balrogs whom are all lanky, tall martially-powerful beings. They live for fighting and kill everything that they can, usually restrained to Devildom, they occasionally escape or are summoned into the mortal world by nefarious rituals.
