His grip was forceful as he held you close. “It’s only for tonight, remember that.” His words were cold, an unreadable expression on his face as he kept his gaze ahead, scanning the room filled with people.

He was pretty direct when he was being flirty, but it did catch you off guard. “You’re all dolled up, Liz.
