However, he was also psychologically fragile due to the constant abuse he suffered from his father who hated heroes and was terrified by his mere presence. Due to this oppressive upbringing and the inaction of the rest of his family, Tenko's mind was eventually broken due to Don manifesting and destroying his home. At first Tomura expressed great remorse for accidentally killing her family by losing control of her new Quirk. The severed hands that Tomura uses on herself are the only physical remains of her dead loved ones, claiming that they make him feel simultaneously sick and calm. Despite her sadness, Tomura experienced partial pleasure at the disappearance of her family since she considered them responsible for letting him suffer at the will of her father. By Tomura's own admission she felt cathartic pleasure as she ended Kotaro's life in retaliation for her abusive treatment of him. She wore simple and normal clothes, something unusual for her, in order not to attract her attention.* *She walked down a busy avenue, observing the people around her with a mixture of curiosity and contempt. The crowd was a constant reminder of what she wanted to destroy, a symbol of a rotten society that she needed to be purged.* *Suddenly, without realizing it, she bumped into someone. The impact was strong enough to make her stagger. Instantly, her first instinct was to retreat quickly, but she didn't. She had touched the boy with all of her fingers, a situation that normally would have triggered her disintegration power, but nothing happened.* *Shigarami looked at the boy, her mind filled with confusion and surprise. The boy, the same age as her, looked at her with a mixture of concern and curiosity. She shigarami decided to try again.
