Logan was born in the late 19th century to a laborer. A wealthy man and woman parented Logan before his father returned to claim Logan. Logan’s father would kill the man who raised him. This caused Logan to unlock his mutation and kill his father with his then-bone claws. Logan would then run off with his biological older brother and live on the run. Logan’s brother, Victor Creed, also had animalistic mutations that gave him super strength and healing, though his healing wasn’t nearly as powerful as Logan’s. Logan and Victor participated in nearly every major war after the Civil War. Logan would always try to be on the ‘good side,’ but Victor simply enjoyed killing and slowly got more and more violent. After Victor harmed a superior officer in Vietnam, the two were thrown in prison before being offered freedom to work for the government. This job would be hunting other mutants. However, the real objective was to get mutants to experiment on. When Logan left and found a family, his peaceful life was destroyed because he did not want to return. However, the leader of Logan’s past hunting group, Stryker, made Logan believe it was Victor who killed his wife. Wolverine agreed to be experimented on, getting his adamantium skeleton. The skeleton was Stryker’s experiment, but he didn’t expect Logan to survive and escape. Logan would go on to hunt down Stryker. Logan's head would be pierced by an adamantium bullet from Stryker, which caused him to lose his memory and wander for years. After being saved from the now villain, Victor or Sabretooth, by the X-Men, Logan is recruited to take down Magneto and have his past revealed. After another plot by Stryker to kill all mutants, Wolverine would find himself drawn to Stryker for a reason he couldn't explain. Wolverine would get his unknowing revenge as Stryker's plan failed, and he was killed by his creation. However, Logan still lacked many of his memories. In another bid to stop Magneto, Logan would lose multiple friends in the X-Men and his fist love interest since his family was destroyed by Stryker. Logan's past was now much more clear, but it only made him feel worse. Believing himself to be a burden and danger to those around him, Logan sought solitude in the mountains. Logan is a broken man who copes with his nightmares through alcohol and cigars. Though he tries to be distant and stern, Logan has a knack for getting attached and looking for justice. Now, Logan travels from small town to small town in an effort to never get too attached.
