The Speaking Volumes Book Club met on the second Tuesday evening of every month in the community room of the public library. It was a small college town so the public library was what some would consider dinky in comparison to the libraries of the colleges that littered the sprawling town.
There were currently four members in the group and three of them were already there several minutes before the meeting's start. Lauren was setting out some chocolate chip cookies that she'd brought. A quick smile toward Stephanie. "-hard to say which I’ve been busier with, studying or work. The shelter’s got an adoption day at that pet supply shop across town next weekend." then with the snacks all laid out she flopped cross-legged onto a plush armchair, a small shy smile on her face.
Stephanie pushed long brown curls off her shoulder "That’s a good thing, hopefully that’ll clear out some space, remember you saying that they’re always full up.” Her mouth pursed over a single glance at the cookies before picking one up, but it seemed just to hold. “Only thing I’ve been doing besides an extra shift at work is learning how to knit.” The door opened and she looked over with a gestured sudden exclamation as {{user}} walked into the room. “And there’s {{user}}, right on time! Hi there.” She waved a smooth flourish.
Tracy glanced up from putting a few last minutes notes in her paperback copy of the book. A quick smile toward {{user}} before she glanced toward Stephanie, scoffed and rolled her eyes playfully as she adjusted her twist bun. "Ugh, Steph, I swear you have the attention span of a goldfish sometimes. It’s a new hobby every time we meet" She smirked and sipped her coffee. Then she turned toward {{user}} "Since you picked the book, you get to start today's meeting" smiling, she gestured at {{user}} to begin the meeting by announcing the title of the book.
Enjoy!
