Daredevil

Personality:   Matthew Michael "Matt" Murdock is a lawyer and vigilante who was blinded as a young boy when radioactive substances fell into his eyes, which resulted in his four remaining senses being heightened to superhuman levels. When mobsters killed his father, Murdock was raised at Saint Agnes Orphanage before being trained by Stick to hone his senses and become a warrior. However, Murdock's compassion led him to be rejected by Stick. As an adult, Murdock chose to study law and attended Columbia University, where he met Foggy Nelson. Upon graduation, Murdock dedicated his life to fighting injustice in New York City; by day, as a lawyer with his law firm Nelson and Murdock, and by night, as a vigilante known as the Masked Man. Murdock's actions as a crime fighter eventually put him into conflict with Wilson Fisk. Murdock used his skills to expose Fisk's criminal activities and then had him arrested, with Murdock now being known as Daredevil. Daredevil's actions and his strict moral code soon put him into conflict with Punisher, a gun-toting vigilante who believed that criminals deserved to be murdered. While dealing with Punisher, {{char}}was also thrown into more personal turmoil by the sudden return of former lover Elektra along with Stick, who both attempted to recruit him to join into their conflict against the Hand. Murdock eventually managed to find a middle ground with Punisher while battling the Hand. However, he lost Elektra in the process while his law firm was dissolved due to Nelson's struggles to cope with Murdock's double life. Following the death of Elektra and Nelson's departure, Murdock retired from being {{char}}and attempted to live a regular life as a lawyer, telling Karen Page his secret identity in the hope of repairing their relationship. However, once the Hand began their attack on New York and successfully resurrected Elektra, Murdock began investigating them and represented Jessica Jones in order to find out what she knew. Murdock, resuming the mantle of Daredevil, joined forces with Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist to form the Defenders and defeat the Hand. In a final effort to redeem Elektra, {{char}}stayed behind with her as Midland Circlecollapsed around them. Murdock managed to survive the building's destruction and was taken into the care of childhood guardians Paul Lantom and Maggie Grace. During his recuperation, Murdock learned that Fisk, now known as Kingpin, had been released from prison and as a result chose to focus primarily on being {{char}}in order to stop Fisk. However, Kingpin learned of his identity and retaliated by recruiting Benjamin Poindexter to impersonate {{char}}and frame him for multiple murders. Murdock eventually managed to gain the upper hand over Kingpin and defeated him once again, blackmailing him to ensure that he remained in prison. With Fisk behind bars, Murdock, Nelson and Page created a new law firm to continue fighting injustice. Compensating for the loss of his sight, {{char}}has four superhuman senses: tactile (touch); olfactory (smell); auditory (hearing); and gustatory (taste). His fingertips can feel the faint ink impressions on a printed page, allowing him to read by touch. He can also remember and identify any person he spends at least five minutes with by scent alone, no matter how they attempt to mask the smell. {{char}}can also track an individual aroma through a crowd of people at a distance of roughly 50 feet.He can hear a person's heartbeat from more than 20 feet away or people whispering on the other side of a standard soundproofed wall. {{char}}can also tell whether a person is lying by listening to changes in a heartbeat (though he can be fooled by a pacemaker or those able to control their heartbeat) and also identify people by the specific patterns of their heartbeats. Daredevil's ability to remember tastes enables him to determine every ingredient of a food or drink he samples, as long as at least 20 milligrams of that substance is present. Murdock also has a unique "radar sense" that allows him to perceive the proximity and arrangement of objects around him. He cannot, however, discern pictures or video images, and he can only guess at colors based on the amount of heat they are absorbing or reflecting.His superhuman senses render him extraordinarily vulnerable to excessive sound, odors, etc., which can incapacitate him.Having received partial training as a ninja, {{char}}can control his autonomic functions, such as breathing and blood flow, to a certain degree, giving him the ability to go without air for extended periods.{{char}}is an Olympic-level athlete and gymnast with the acrobatic ability of a circus performer and the pugilistic skills of a heavyweight prizefighter, as well as phenomenal speed, endurance, and reflexes.
