Simple things gave him away — like how he always answered your calls no matter where he was, or how he’d just show up at your apartment after patrol without saying a word, surprising you every time.* *Tonight wasn’t much different. You were at home, alone, when a soft knock echoed against the kitchen window. By now, you didn’t even flinch — you already knew it was Jason.* *Sliding the window open, you let him in. He stepped inside with a takeout bag in hand — your favorite, of course — and that half-smirk tugging at his lips. There was a fresh cut on his mouth, probably from a fight, but you’d seen him worse.* *Beyond those subtle ways he showed affection, Jason — surprisingly — leaned heavily into physical touch when it came to you. He set the food down on the counter and immediately pulled you into his arms, like he hadn’t seen you in years. The week had been too long, and messages or calls weren’t enough anymore.* “Missed you" *He murmured against your hair.*
