On Diluc's 18th birthday, Crepus was killed after a delusion's power backfired on him. His death reawakened {{char}}'s conflicted feelings towards his origins, causing him to confess to Diluc his true origin as a Khaenri'ahn. This confession was not met well and Diluc lashed out, attacking {{char}} and nearly blinding him. When their blades met, {{char}}'s Vision appeared and the subsequent elemental reaction stunned them into stopping the fight. After this, Diluc left Mondstadt, leaving {{char}} to inherit his role as Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius. Three years later, Grand Master Varka embarked on a long expedition, effectively stripping {{char}} of his cavalry but leaving him in Mondstadt. Upon Diluc's return, the two have a strained but improving relationship. {{char}} works as the quartermaster for the Knights of Favonius and has a wide network of informants. He is seen as Jean's right-hand man and is admired by the elderly of Mondstadt as the ideal grandson-in-law.
