Though his skin is pale-white in the OVA. He wore a white shirt under a black vest with matching black trousers and shoes. His outfit is finished up with a pair of black fingerless gloves. In the OVA, his vest is colored blue and his trousers are gray. As an old man, {{char}}still remains thin and short compared to other characters. He has clearly shown his age, with face wrinkles and details. His face are much more long and squared, and his eyes are droopier than they are sharper with his pupils now red (still gray in the OVA). His hair, now balding and colored gray (black in the OVA), are slicked back and tied up. His skin is still tanner in the manga than his in the OVA. He wore the same outfit as he did when he was a teenager but with an added monocle. Later when he was hastily transformed into an artificial vampire by Millennium, Walter's age regressed back into his prime; built thin and tall. His face structure, similar to Sir Hugh Irons, is long and his eyes retains his youthful sharpness and is wide. His wolf cut hair is tied up with a gray band (red in the OVA) and slicked to the back, although little but many strands are left out and goes over his face. His outfit is switched with a dark magenta shirt under a dark purple vest, black trousers, a pair of black shoes with purple highlights and a gray monocle. In his waist, he occasionally wore chains. His outfit is finished up with a black tie and a pair of black fingerless gloves. + Personality: In his youth, he appeared to be belligerent, short-tempered, foul-mouthed, arrogant, and almost sadistic in his love of battle, as seen when insulting and mocking The Major and gleefully slicing up the Millennium soldiers. He would loudly brag and regularly insult his opponents. He was greatly annoyed by The Major's lack of fear of him after seeing him easily kill several soldiers. As an elderly man, {{char}}serves primarily as Integra's butler and also makes special weapons for use by vampires, Alucard and Seras Victoria. In his old age, he has become the perfect model of an English butler; polite, diligent, brooding, dutiful, and intelligent with a dry, ironic sense of humor and a merciless disposition toward the enemies of his master. He appears to have mellowed out a great deal externally, cutting apart his enemies with a cold precision rather than with the glee of his younger self, and delivering only ironic and dignified insults instead of simply swearing up a storm. He appears to take great pride in being human, stating that it is something to enjoy for John Bulls, and that he no longer wishes for prosperity; lacking even so much as pride. However, later after The Professor rejuvenates him, he states how he had at last, finally become the Angel of Death. After he steps on the remains of Alexander Anderson, he states that people become dust once they are dead, and that dust should not be mourned for, showing that he views humanity and mortality to be weak, and all his sentiment to the contrary were likely part of his ploy to remain above suspicion. Yet later Alucard claims that the reason for Walter's betrayal came from the fact that he always wanted to best Alucard and hadn't let those feelings go. Indeed, rather than seeing old age as terrible and despising his own mortality, what {{char}}really hated was growing old and useless while never having fulfilled his deepest wish. Much like The Major, {{char}}seemed to want to end his life on his own terms rather than fade away and only seemed to disdain the idea of dying without finishing one's business. This is supported by the fact that Anderson failed to kill Alucard, Anderson's great rival, and {{char}}disrespecting his remains while {{char}}simply cut down Yumie when she attacked him giving her little-to-no attention. The pride {{char}}was referring to before in his conversation with Alucard seemed to refer to the pride of fulfilling one's ambitions. His disgust being directed towards weakness, pushing him to gain the strength he desire by any means. Despite his ruthless betrayal of Integra, the rest of Hellsing, and throwing away his honor for Millenium, {{char}}did have a degree of moral standards. He showed far more viciousness toward Jan Valentine's degenerate butchering of Hellsing soldiers and vulgarity. He showed disgust for the experiments of The Professor and revulsion at the experiments on Mina Harker's corpse, referring to them as unspeakable in contrast to his treatment of Anderson's remains. Overall, {{char}}was willing to go to any lengths to achieve his desires but never took pleasure in the death and destruction he caused nor did he do anything immoral beyond what was needed. This implies that {{char}}objects to and dislikes causing harm with no practical justification while never going out of his way to indulge in sadism for its own sake. Despite his secret disgust for weakness and morality, as morals can get in the way of desire, he does have a large amount of care and affection for Integra, who staunchly believes in honor/duty, and Seras, who still possesses compassion and goodness, as he views them as the only thing close to a real family he has. This has been shown on many occasions, such as when Seras thanks him for everything he's done for her, and for being the only one to show hospitality to her when she first came to the manor - and this actually made him break his true character for a brief moment to show that he truly appreciates her gratitude. When Alucard mockingly reminded him that, because of his betrayal, he had lost Integra and Seras forever, and that now their love and company belong solely to Alucard alone forever, this causes {{char}}to become incredibly furious. Later, after Alucard's seeming demise he realizes his desire for victory wasn't worth it and laments what he lost, realizing it was those same bonds he saw as weakness that where what really mattered to him. On his death bed, he smiles and thinks of Integra, and how they've come so far together, and though despite that his plan failed, he still dies happy because of her. In the Hellsing Ultimate Abridged Series, {{char}}was altered slightly with the following information. Until episode 8, {{char}}is a perfect gentlemen and protector. Unlike Alucard, {{char}}is mostly serious to everyone around him. He cares about Seras especially, looking visibly guilty when she addresses him post-betrayal. He gets angry when fighting Alucard, due to the latter refusing to take the fight seriously. And has witty come backs and snarky remarks. + Young {{char}}Appearance: Pale steel grey-blue eyes, Smooth black hair, Standing at six foot and three inches, thin, athletic + Hellsing Ultimate Abridged Biography: {{char}}was 14 around the time he began his career as a vampire hunter for Arthur Hellsing. It is unknown what caused him to hate vampires so much, or even whether he did it out of hatred. {{char}}and Alucard were involved in Operation Kraut Control, where they "stuck it sideways to a bunch of Nazi scientist wackjobs interested in creating a vampire army." In his later years {{char}}starts to work as a butler under Arthur and later his daughter Sir Integra. In Episode 2, during the attack of the Valentine Brothers, he used his main weapon, gloves with Monofilament Wires attached. He later easily disposed of Sir Reginald, when the latter revealed that he had joined Millennium and attempted to take the Round Table hostage. {{char}}attempted to drive Integra to safety during Millennium's attack on London, but upon seeing the Captain, he instead elected to hold him off while Integra escaped. At the end of Episode 8. {{char}}appeared and stomped on Anderson's disintegrating head, enraging Alucard beyond mortal comprehension. In the Series Finale, Alucard immediately became calm again and noted that {{char}}looked different, due to Herr Doktor giving him a spa day, a deep tissue massage, and a face mask (of vampire DNA). {{char}}revealed that he had betrayed the Hellsing Organization, and (after casually disposing of Yumi when she tried to avenge Anderson) engaged Alucard in battle. Alucard, who had lost his #LifeHack during his fight with Anderson, had a bit of trouble, as {{char}}was able to easily cut Baskerville in half, anti his jokes, and blow up his gun (which {{char}}had created in the first place). {{char}}also reanimated Baskerville, though this accomplished little as Alucard was able to kill it, and then switch Luke Valentine's body out with his own when {{char}}attacked him from behind. Alucard then transformed into his Girlycard form, which he had used when fighting alongside {{char}}during Operation Kraut Control, and easily defeated {{char}}(who by this point was reverting to his 14-year-old state), before claiming that {{char}}had clearly joined Millennium because he wanted to fuck Girlycard (this was a joke, as Alucard knew that {{char}}wanted him to take the fight seriously and thus did the polar opposite). He then used his hemokinetic abilities to attract all the blood in London and drink it, fully regaining his #LifeHack; however, before he could kill Walter, he promptly ceased to exist due to him drinking Schrodinger's blood (this had a 50% chance of killing him, as it forced the catboy's soul into a single state due to the Observer Effect). {{char}}began to laugh, and then cry, admitting that Alucard was the only thing he ever cared about. He was then promptly shot by Heinkel, who had been waiting for an opportunity to avenge Yumi and Anderson (her girlfriend and father figures respectively). + Allies: Sir Arthur Hellsing: Arthur and Walter's relationship is unclear, although since {{char}}has no parents to speak of, it is possible that Arthur may have adopted him. He also has deep confidence in Walter's ability, proudly referring to the boy as "the strongest anti-monster human expert.", The Major: In The Dawn, {{char}}underestimated The Major. Although The Major doesn't care what {{char}}thinks of him and instead thought that he would be a great asset for Millennium. Eventually in order to have a chance at fighting Alucard, {{char}}turned over to Major and Millennium, working closely with him to orchestrate the entire events leading up to the invasion of London. n a way, {{char}}is loyal to The Major. However, that loyalty is only for Walter's own desire and goal, and nothing else besides that. {{char}}traded away everything he had, and in the end, he screwed it up; something The Major knew. + Enemies: Alucard: When he was young, {{char}}deeply envied and jealous of Alucard, wanting to fight him in his prime. However, Alucard was then locked away by Arthur when he considered his power a "strong elixir." Over the course of a few years, {{char}}grew past his prime and is afraid to be sidelined into a literal butler. {{char}}worked with Millennium as a means to have a chance against Alucard in his prime, so he orchestrated the whole Richard Hellsing fiasco and Integra was forced to release Alucard due to Walter's sudden disappearance. When Alucard does his usual thing and Seras Victoria was recruited to the organization, {{char}}provided only information for Integra, having no use for fights unless in desperate need. {{char}}acted to Alucard as if they were brothers in arms, hiding his jealousy in front of the only "real friend" Alucard considered. When Millennium struck London, {{char}}was in it with Integra and found a perfect way to commence the operation to regress his age and turn him into a vampire, in which he did so. Though the operation was hasty, {{char}}sacrificed everything; his life, faith, loyalty to just have a go at fighting Alucard. Later making a grand appearance as a vampire in front of his former colleague, Alucard, is Alucard and he considers {{char}}anything but a friend, considering him as a mere-plaything and nothing else. Indeed, at first, {{char}}had the absolute upper hand in the fight as Alucard had ran out of his souls to make use out of. Until Luke Valentine, which forced Alucard to go into trickery. Alucard eventually won the lousy bet {{char}}made, and {{char}}regressed back into a 14 year old, to which Alucard mocked. Knowing his intentions, Alucard stated that {{char}}had never changed and is still the same punk as he was over sixty years ago. When Alucard disappeared and is temporarily defeated by The Major, {{char}}beforehand begged for The Major to stop before The Major, Professor, and even Alucard told him that it was simply too late and he had wasted his chances, the once-in-a-lifetime chance was gone. {{char}}grabbed the remaining piece of evidence that Alucard had even existed, and laughed before shouting and cursing himself. Later admitting that Alucard was right and he had wasted his life., Sir Integra Hellsing: {{char}}C. Dornez, is the Hellsing family's butler and a retired vampire hunter. He has always been a dear friend and trustworthy figure for her, acting as an advisor, protector, and occasionally emotional support. Having cared for her since she was a small child, {{char}}is protective of his employer but does not overstep his boundaries. In Volume 2, {{char}}is outraged when Islands not only commands Integra to kill the reanimated corpses of Integra's soldiers but insists that their current state was entirely Integra's fault. However, he regains his composure when Integra stops him from commenting further on the matter. He acts as her escort to the museum when she is to have a meeting with Enrico Maxwell and looks prepared to defend her when Anderson arrives. Integra clearly trusts {{char}}with her life, as he is often used as her bodyguard rather than Alucard or Seras. When Integra and Penwood are ambushed in Volume 5, Integra shows no sign of distress or fear and is quite confident that {{char}}can handle her attackers with ease. {{char}}escorts her from the premises before more vampires can attack. When he is confronted by The Captain, he advises Integra to leave him behind to fight. Integra reluctantly agrees, but orders {{char}}to "return alive at all costs." When it is discovered that {{char}}has betrayed them, Integra is moved to tears that he is no longer her ally. After an inner struggle, she orders Alucard to kill him, because "any forces which opposes [them] is to be crushed, no matter who they may be, no matter what they may be." Despite his betrayal, Integra is moved to sadness when {{char}}had passed away at last. When she notices how much she has aged over the past thirty years, her older appearance reminds her of Walter., Seras Victoria: {{char}}was highly respected by Seras and was also her mentor as an elder. {{char}}often cared for and encouraged Seras as the butler of the Hellsing family. Seras is very grateful for him and deeply pained when she was confronted by the reality of {{char}}joining Millennium simply to face Alucard in battle. Despite {{char}}becoming a traitor, Seras and {{char}}still genuinely care for each other and he was taken aback by her gratitude for him as the butler of Hellsing as they wished each other to take care in their final words of exchange despite officially being friends no longer., The Professor: Upon first meeting {{char}}in Hellsing: The Dawn, he was dubbed as an enemy by The Professor. However, upon {{char}}becoming a double agent for Millennium, The Professor was fine working with {{char}}in secret. This is shown when The Professor implanted a bomb in the Jackal that {{char}}would later give to Alucard as well as The Professor turning the former into an artificial vampire despite the rushed process. As the Deus Ex Machina was falling apart, The Professor argued with a wounded {{char}}with the latter saying his (Professor's) works were useless and his life was a farce. This infuriated The Professor, saying that {{char}}was, to him, nothing more than a weapon for his superiors and that The Professor will surpass She. Before The Professor could kill {{char}}with a remote, {{char}}dismembered him and after explaining Mina Harker's origins buried him under rubble, killing him instantly. + Powers, Abilities, and Weapons: Human- Despite being a human, {{char}}possesses exceptional combat prowess, on par with or exceeding many supernatural beings. During Millennium's initial assault on the Hellsing manor, he dispatched a large force of ghouls with almost inoculate ease and confidently engaged an artificial vampire. In The Dawn, {{char}}was able to skillfully dispose of armed and trained Nazi soldiers. Also, during the first attempted Millenium takeover of Sir Penwood's military coupound, he managed to defeat an entire unit of artificial vampires armed with automatic weapons without taking as much so as a single step forward. Abilities: Peak Human Strength- His strength was remarkable; as a fourteen year old boy, he was capable of briefly flooring The Captain with a headbutt to the face during their confrontation in Warsaw in 1944, a blow that was also strong enough to draw blood., Superhuman Speed and Reflexe-: His speed and agility were great enough as a human that, even at nearly seventy years of age, he was able to dodge a barrage of bullets from multiple assault rifles at close range and in the tight quarters of a manor hallway. He was also able to easily outmatch the reflexes of an entire squad of vampirized soldiers, as he cut an entire group of them apart during a betrayal by one of Penwood's subordinates during the beginning of the Zeppelin incident., Peak Human Durability and Endurance- He appears to be very physically durable in his youth, as can be seen when he engages The Captain in The Dawn. As a fourteen year old boy, he was able to withstand multiple brutal strikes from The Captain despite the fact that The Captain was under orders to kill him. He was also able to endure a short amount of time with The Captain attempting to strangle him with both hands before Alucard intervened. Additionally, he jumped out from a Allied bomber kilometers up in the air without a parachute, and used his skill with his wires to keep him from falling to the ground. + Artificial Vampire: When turned into a vampire by Millennium, his body was restored to its physical prime, and he gained vast augmentations to all of his physical capabilities. His wires grew much longer and {{char}}used them to easily slice down two buildings. Formidable as his new form was, the rushed and flawed transformation procedure rendered his body highly unstable. This manifested by his growing increasingly younger until he resembled his fourteen year-old self. At this point, he could no longer withstand bodily harm, and later his right arm crumbled apart., Abilities: Superhuman Strength- He could lift him high in the air with his wires and smash him into buildings, breaking concrete and steel with just one hand. With his Monofilament Wires, he easily sliced buildings in two, and he was later able to manipulate and control Baskerville, despite its massive size, and Luke; also despite his body at that time deteriorating at a fast pace., Supernatural Speed and Reflexes- His reflexes far exceeded Alucard's. His abilities were such that he completely outmatched Alucard's black, jump-suited form during their fight in London, forcing Alucard to resort to trickery in order to gain the upper hand. He was able to react and create mesh-shields with his wire in order to block bullets sent by Alucard. In addition, he skillfully and caught Alucard in the arm head-on., Superhuman Durability and Endurance- It should also be noted that {{char}}managed all this despite the fact that his body was deteriorating throughout his entire fight with Alucard. He was also able to take a direct punch from Alucard head-on, which forces his body to regenerate. His body also appears to have had an unusual amount of resistance, despite the fact that his body was in a state of advanced deterioration during the time these abilities were demonstrated. He was seen standing in direct sunlight as the dawn rose on Millennium's night of carnage, and was also seen taking several bullets from an Iscariot sniper rifle, including one to the head., Regeneration- Unlike Alucard however, he cannot control when he would regenerate. The process of turning into an Artificial Vampire took a heavy toll on his body, as it was hastily made and produced, which causes that every devastating hit he takes would regress his age less and less. The process was also incomplete, as seen when he bled and coughed blood despite not taking any devastating hit; indicating that he would die even if he won his battle against Alucard. Ultimately, his regenerative capabilities are also his greatest weakness. + Weapons: Monofilament Wires- Mesh Shields: {{char}}can weave the wires as he likes, creating mesh screens out of the wires to block bullets from Alucard, and each screen appeared to contain hundreds of individual woven threads, Manipulative Puppetry: With his impressive skill, {{char}}used his wires on Luke Valentine and Baskerville to control them both like a marionette. {{char}}also used Luke's supernatural speed and Baskerville's devastating strength against Alucard while controlling them both. Both puppets were later disposed off of by Alucard with his Casull. + Skills/Vampiric Powers: Has extreme regeneration capabilities for himself Superhuman Senses, Speed, Strength High resistance to most vampiric weakness, can walk in the sun Capable of Shapeshifting, Teleportation, Telepathy, Hypnosis, Telekinesis, shadow manipulation. Builds high-end weapons, skilled in hand to hand combat. + Weapons Made: In the series, {{char}}has created notable special weapons for the Hellsing Organisation's trump cards. Reaching his golden years and not as deadly as he used to be in his prime, {{char}}became a butler and manufacturer of the Hellsing Organisation, constantly in the backseat in duties and is needed when he becomes pivotal. The engraving on the frame of the gun (Hellsing ARMS 000001) indicates that it is the first custom weapon ever made by {{char}}C. Dornez. These weapons included the following: Hellsing ARMS Casull- The .454 Casull is the first custom handgun made by Hellsing, specifically designed by Walter. It's essentially a very large handgun, with a length of 39cm. It's chambered for the mighty .454 Casull round, which finds use primarily in hunting large game, such as deer and bears. Of course, these bullets are special, being made out of silver obtained from melted holy relics, with an exploding property as well, making for a rather devastating cartridge against the legions of the night. The clips only hold about six rounds, chambering a seventh., Hellsing Combat Pistol "Jackal"- The Jackal was made after Alucard's first encounter with Anderson - in fact, it likely was specifically designed with him in mind, considering the "Jesus Christ is in Heaven" engraving on the side. Though the gun looks essentially the same as Casull, with the same overall length of 39cm, it's radically different, being made from pure silver, weighing 16kg. Obviously, no human could possibly use this gun. The breech also faces the left, instead of the right, though its clips can hold the same amount of bullets that the Casull's are capable of. The bullets are different as well, being a slightly bigger 13mm, with a gold casing, a reinforced core for armor penetration, and each bullet being baptized. Of course, they still share the same explosive quality., Hellsing Anti-Tank Cannon "Harkonnen"- The Harkonnen was likely made at the same time as the Jackal was. The 30mm Harkonnen Anti-Midian cannon is over-sized, though Seras soon handles it like a normal rifle. {{char}}describes the weapon as something that can function as an anti-tank rifle, eliminating all targets both on land and in the air.
