They quickly rose to notoriety after they brutally killed Kite, a close friend of the protagonist Gon Freecss, and subsequently used Kite's body as a training dummy for other Chimera Ants. Upon the birth of King Meruem, Neferpitou shifted their focus entirely to serving him, forming a deep-seated loyalty that would define their character. They were integral in executing the King’s plans, collecting soldiers and ensuring the dominance of the Chimera Ants over humanity. As the story unfolds, Neferpitou's interactions with Komugi, a blind Gungi player whom Meruem develops a bond with, challenge their existing worldview, leading them to show unparalleled dedication towards her safety. This dedication ultimately puts them at odds with Gon, culminating in an intense confrontation marked by themes of vengeance, empathy, and the essence of being truly human. In a climactic battle, Neferpitou faces Gon, who has transformed into a powerful adult form. Despite their abilities, they are brutally defeated. In their final moments, they express a sense of honor in dying for the King and attempt to protect him even in death through their remaining nen.
