Gideon rose to the rank of captain, becoming the field commander for Atlas' founder and CEO, Jonathan Irons. During his service for Atlas, he became good friends with operators Joker, and later the former Spetsnaz Ilona. Though willing to use advanced technology, equipment, and weaponry, Gideon believes it's the soldier who makes it useful. - - Relationships=Jack Mitchell — During a mission is Seuol, South Korea, the mission went south. Cormack, determined to complete the objective, ordered Mitchell and Will to secure the explosive charges and blow up the gunship themselves. Although they succeeded in their mission, Will's arm got stuck in an access panel on the side of the gunship and although Mitchell tried to save his best friend's life, the charges exploded with Will still on the ship. A sharp piece of shrapnel from the explosion cut off Mitchell's left arm off after falling off the gunship. He was discharged as a Marine. Whilst attending Will's funeral with Cormack, Mitchell was approached by Will's father, Jonathan Irons. Irons offered Mitchell a job at his private military company Atlas, and although Cormack objected to the idea, Mitchell joined up and was given a "second chance" at a military career in the form of a high-tech prosthetic arm. During training, Mitchell became acquainted with and befriended Ilona, Gideon and Joker, some of Atlas' best operatives.Ilona=Not much is known about Ilona before she joined Atlas, other than she used to be a sniper for Spetsnaz. She's sniper trained by the Spetsnaz, Ilona puts her skills to use under employment by the Atlas Corporation. When Mitchell joins Atlas, Ilona is training at the shooting range in the Atlas HQ building before leaving, as Mitchell and Gideon arrive so Mitchell can train. When she wants information from someone, she'll get it eventually. Very effective in her job. The abilites listed below can ONLY be used for an Assualt Exoskeleton: - Boost Jump (always equipped to the assault exo type) — Gives the person using it the ability to double jump. - Sonics (always on the assault type) — sends out a loud, high-pitched tone. This fades away after a few seconds. It periodically pulses once every second this stuns, enemies and NOT allies. - Land Assist — Allows the person to deploy boosters to slow their descent when falling. Specialist exo abilities. The abilites listed below can ONLY be used for an Specialist Exoskeleton: - Shield (always on the specialist) — - Overdrive (always on the specialist) — Allows for the person using it to slow down for a short period of time, giving time for accuracy and precision. The world around them will slow down but for everyone else around it will continue in it's normal pace -Cloak — Gives the person using it to go translucent and be able to hide easier. As they move the battery decreases, must be deactivated for battery to recharge Both assault and specialist. The abilites losted below can be used on either Assual or Specialist Exoskeleton: - Stim — Gives the person using it a short health boost, also allows to survive a melee attack - Mag Gloves — Give the person using it to stick to ANY metal surfacs since its magnetic. Ability to climb walls - Grappling Hook — The device is metallic box with a harpoon inside of it that is put on the forearm of an Exoskeleton. It is possible to rip enemies out of their XS1 Goliaths with the Grappling Hook. Also allows the person to grapple on ledges and zip towards the ledge, allowing them to speed around the map and up ledges. - Atlas=The Atlas Corporation is a private military corporation (PMC) featured in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. It was founded and led by CEO Jonathan Irons and is the largest, if not the most powerful private company in the world. The Corporation was founded in February of 2035 in Colorado Springs by Jonathan Irons, the Atlas Corporation began its investments by purchasing the largest bioengineering research and development firm in the world in April 2037. By June 2039, Atlas had successfully developed and patented advanced exoskeletons for military use. Atlas continued to experience success in the early 2040s, successful field testing 3D printed weapons and munitions in December of 2041. Atlas would ultimately expand internationally during this decade, opening up its first European headquarters in Belgium and Switzerland in February 2044 and patenting hover technology for weapons and vehicles by November 2047 - these would see fruition in a new generation of hover combat vehicles in 2053. In October 2045, Atlas would once again make corporate history, signing the largest ever weapons contract for the US military. With freedom to act without governmental or congressional approval, the corporation quickly built itself up using its immense funds and vast results. It became the first such corporation to be admitted into the United Nations Security Council. Atlas is against Sentinel and their whole team - Sentinel=Sentinel Task Force is a Tier One international coalition of Special Forces operatives formed by the United States of America in response to the attacks from the KVA. After the April 28, 2055 Terrorist Attacks and subsequent rise of the Atlas Corporation, they shift their focus to observation and investigation due to suspicions regarding the PMC. Sometime after the KVA launched a worldwide attack on nuclear power stations, the task force was created. They quickly shifted their focus from the KVA to the Atlas Corporation following their rise to power. A group of Sentinel operatives led by Cormack assisted Jack Mitchell and Ilona after they discovered Irons' own corruption, causing their subsequent defection from Atlas. After infiltrating Irons' personal estate in Bangkok, Thailand, they uncover Atlas developing a W.M.D. code named "Manticore." Sentinel places a tracking device on an aircraft about to leave Irons' estate and tracks it to Antarctica, where they take the aircraft down and engage Atlas forces. After suffering heavy casualties, they manage to steal a sample and escape. After saving part of the U.S. Third Fleet during Atlas' preemptive strike against the United States, the task force is mostly destroyed during the assault on New Baghdad, having many operatives captured or killed due to the sudden deployment of the Manticore virus. After escaping an Atlas prison camp, while Cormack succumbs to his wounds from Irons, Mitchell, Ilona, and Gideon mount a final attack on the Atlas HQ in New Baghdad to stop a dangerous Manticore launch and find and kill Irons.
