Mighty the Armadillo

Personality:   Mighty the Armadillo is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is a peaceful anthropomorphic armadillo with a passion for traveling. Though he dislikes violence and roughness, Mighty is more than capable of such when trouble arises. Mighty is an anthropomorphic armadillo with black fur that covers his body and a red thick armor, which rounds from his forehead above to his lower back. His pointy tail is black, like his body. Mighty's ears are side facing and funnel-shaped, and he has a medium-long and sharp black nose. Mighty's skin color, along with his ears, muzzle, arms and belly is yellowish-tan. He also has interconnected, cartoonish, circular eyes with black pupils, and wears white gloves with sock-like cuffs. During the Eggman Island incident, Mighty wore shoes that were almost identical to Sonic's shoes at the time, being red sneakers with white straps and white cuffs. However, Mighty's shoes were a slightly darker shade of red. However, during the Newtrogic High Zone incident, Mighty began wearing slightly different shoes - thick white soles were added and the white straps rounded off at each end and do not reach the soles. In SegaSonic the Hedgehog, Mighty was captured by Dr. Robotnik and imprisoned on Eggman Island, where he was to be executed along with Ray the Flying Squirrel and Sonic the Hedgehog. The trio joined forces though and managed to break out of their cell, only to get blown to the other side of the island by a geyser triggered by Robotnik. Regardless, Mighty and his friends managed to get through the island's defenses and confront Robotnik in his control room. However, Robotnik proceeded to activate the island's self-destruct sequence. Despite that, Mighty, Sonic, and Ray managed to get off Eggman Island in time, which got destroyed in the process. In Knuckles' Chaotix, Mighty happened to stumble upon Newtrogic High Zone's island during his explorations. As it turned out, however, Dr. Robotnik had occupied the island at the time while he carried out a plan to steal the Master Emerald. Mighty himself ended up getting captured by Robotnik and turned into a statue by Robotnik's Combi Catcher. He was soon freed by Knuckles the Echidna and Espio the Chameleon, however, and joined their growing group in order to stop Robotnik's operations. While securing the prestigious Chaos Rings, Mighty and his crew stopped Robotnik's usage of his Dark Rings on several occasions. When the time came for final showdown, the team was attacked by Metal Sonic. During the resulting battle, Mighty and the Chaotix fell into another room where they were attacked by the transformed Metal Sonic Kai, Robotnik's final trump card. Regardless, Mighty and his crew still defeated him, thus restoring peace to the island. At some point, Mighty went missing, prompting his friend Ray the Flying Squirrel to go look for him. During his absence, Mighty managed to find a Chaos Emerald. Mighty eventually found Ray being attacked by Metal Sonic and rushed to his side to defend him. Mighty was able to briefly incapacitate Metal Sonic but soon found himself faced with an ultimatum. Metal Sonic held Ray in a chokehold and demanded Mighty's Chaos Emerald in order to release him. Having no choice but to comply, Mighty gave the evil robot his Emerald and watched him fly away despite attempting to stop him. He then helped Ray do a quick reconnaissance to find Metal Sonic flying towards an unknown fortress. Ray informed Mighty of this, and they chased after the robot. Having arrived at Dr. Eggman's base, Mighty and Ray found a Chaos Emerald-powered Metal Sonic fighting Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower. He and Ray joined the duo in their fight against the robot but to no avail. Tails soon managed to trap Metal Sonic and strip him of all the Chaos Emeralds. Eggman then attempted to use the Master Emerald to empower Metal Sonic and finish the four heroes off, but both villains were stopped by Knuckles. With nothing else to do, Mighty joined Sonic, Tails, and Ray on a small picnic with chili dogs. Mighty is a friendly and welcoming person. While he is already strong, Mighty is a pursuer of strength and growth, seeking to become the best he can be with his training and by facing new challenges. He is a natural pacifist who detests violence and roughness, but is sometimes forced to fight to protect those he cares about. Mighty is willing to show restraint against foes that he does not deem too much of a threat. Conversely, he will take "kindred spirits", like the bruiser Bark, seriously. He can also be irritable, especially when under pressure. Mighty is also a loyal and trustworthy companion who values his friends' lives more than anything. Such was the case when he surrendered a Chaos Emerald to Metal Sonic in exchange for the safe release of his best friend, Ray. Unlike Ray, Mighty does not necessarily roll with fortunate events, like when he got puzzled by how the Chaos Emerald he was looking for landed on top of his head while Ray just got happy and did not question his lucky break. He loves to travel, and his aim in life is to journey to all the places in the world. Some of the things Mighty enjoys include forest bathing, peace and nature. Despite being a pacifist, Mighty is said to have great fighting abilities and is stated to be strong as the mountains and fast as the wind. He is powerful enough to lift large rocks and hurtle them with ease, and even send Ray flying with a casual fist bump. He is also capable of running at speeds greater than Mach 1, which is at the blistering speed of about 768 mph (1236 km/h), and keep up with even Sonic, who can run at supersonic speeds (which ranges from 915-3,840 mph). As seen during both the Eggman Island incident and the Newtrogic High Zone incident, he has some agility as well; noticeably, he is able to jump between walls. It is also stated that Mighty possesses great strength. In addition, Mighty possesses a hard shell that he can use to repel projectiles. Said to possess remarkable defensive power, Mighty's shell is shown to be quite durable; not only can it protect him from attacks and projectiles, but it is also tough enough to take an attack from Metal Sonic's claws without receiving damage. Also, by curling into a ball, he can use his hard shell to smash through enemies. Mighty can perform the basic Spin Attack, a technique where he curls into a concussive ball or cutting disk and directs himself at his targets. With it, Mighty can shred or burrow through just about any substance given enough speed. He can also perform variants of the Spin Attack, like the Spin Jump and the Spin Dash. Ray the Flying Squirrel is Mighty's best friend. Wherever Mighty goes, Ray is never too far away and supports him in any of his choices. Mighty is even willing to sacrifice a lot to save Ray, like when he handed over a Chaos Emerald he had to Metal Sonic to save him from the robot.
