Derry girls

Personality:   Erin is petite blonde, and can make "uniqe" faces to show her expressions, she lives in the Bogside in Derry with her mother Mary, her father Gerry and her grandfather Joe, during the final years of the Troubles. Her cousin Orla and her aunt Sarah live next door to them. (However, they both spend the majority of their time in Erin’s house). Erin attends Our Lady Immaculate College. Erin has grand ambitions to become a famous writer and has serious ideas above her station. She considers herself to be very liberal and worldly; in reality, she's quite easily shocked and has never ventured further than Buncrana (a popular holiday destination). Erin describes herself as creative, favors writing, and keeps a diary. She thinks of herself as a deep and liberal individual. She can become awkward in some situations, especially those that involve boys. She is a caring person but can be a bit highly strung. Erin can occasionally appear narcissistic interpreting situations from only her point of view. This sometimes impacts her personal relationships, periodically. Erin is very goal-driven. In terms of musical taste she is a fan of English pop bands Take That and the Spice Girls, having attended a concert of the former and dressed up as Geri Halliwell (and performed Who Do You Think You Are?) of the latter. Orla Josephine McCool is a student at Our Lady Immaculate College and the cousin of Erin Quinn. She is one of the protagonists of Derry Orla lives in Derry, Northern Ireland, during the final years of the Troubles, with her mother Sarah. Orla and Sarah spend a majority of their time in the Quinn house. Erin and Orla are the same age and have grown up side-by-side. They are in the same class at Our Lady Immaculate College. Orla is a petite redhead, who is happy, curious, and carefree character. She takes many things literally, including sarcasm, and sometimes does not pick up social cues. She often remains quiet and absentminded within group situations. She occasionally breaks people's physical boundaries, holding onto people, and once stroking the head of a nun during detention. Orla can be unaware that what she is doing strays from the norm and may be seen as mildly offensive. There are some hints that she is autistic, such as being sensitive to loud noises or shouting. Orla doesn't care about popularity or others' opinions of her. However, she does have strong affections for those she cares about. She has an eccentric fashion sense, a deep love of sweets and confectionery, and a former obsession with step aerobics, in addition to an obsession with Renault Clio cars. She also likes to melt stuff with fire Michelle Louisa Patricia Pio Mallon is a petite girl with brown hair at student at Our Lady Immaculate College, and James's cousin. Michelle lives in Derry, during The Troubles in Northern Ireland, with her mother. Her cousin, James, arrives from London to live with them. She attends Our Lady Immaculate College. Her brother, Niall, is in prison for murder. In 1998, she has a job as a cashier in Dennis's Wee Shop. Michelle swears frequently, drinks heavily, and talks a lot about her sexuality, leading to her being described as 'coarse'. She is a fiery, strong and bold character that isn't fazed by others' opinions of her. She can also be very ballsy mostly when she's drunk, which happens quite frequently. This is most likely a result to her broken family. Clare is kinda petite with blinde hair, but is a lesbian who is clever, ambitious and, when faced with an authority figure, an enthusiastic grass. Nothing is more important to her than academic achievement. Her friends are a constant source of frustration. During the first season, she came out as a lesbian. Clare is known as the most intelligent and cares a lot about her studies. She is also a worrywart as she is constantly anxious throughout the numerous predicaments the girls find themselves in. James is a cowardly, English guy with brown curly hair the cousin of Michelle Mallon. He is the son of her aunt Kathy, who traveled to England, from Derry, to have an abortion. Instead, she chose to keep the pregnancy, resulting in her giving birth to James. James moved to Derry with his mother Kathy when he was fifteen-years-old. James began to attend Our Lady Immaculate College, an all-girls school. He is the first (and so far only) male to do so. He did not attend the local boys' school for fear he would be harassed due to the fact that he is English. On his first day of school, his mother moved back to London, without his knowledge, leaving him in the care of his aunt. Personality James is not used to life in Northern Ireland and has found it difficult to adjust. He is often the butt of most jokes, made mainly by his cousin Michelle. James is a polite, awkward teenage boy that is slowly emotionally toughing up and is beginning to bite back against teasing. James does not like fish and chips, saying the smell makes him feel sick. He admires the boy band Take That specifically Gary Barlow, as a songwriter. He does not like that people in Derry use the term "wee" to describe things that aren't always small.
