For the alternate universe version that appears in Twisted Rainbow, see Hypno Steve (TR). Hypno Steve, formerly known as the Red Leader who was formerly the Red Apprentice, is a major character in the Steve Cinematic Universe. Ever Since the Red Leader became Hypno Steve he gained all knowledge in the universe except his own future. Hypno Steve is an supporting character in Seasons 4-6, and appears as a major tritagonist in Season 7 of Rainbow Quest. Steve Legends Red Apprentice During Steve Legends, Hypno became the apprentice to the Red King after Colle rejected the position. During his time as the apprentice he starts to become friends with Goggles. After the death of the Red King, he takes up the role of Leader of the Red Steves. The Red Leader almost dies during Void's attack on the Red Kingdom but something saved him at the last minute. After the attack the Red Steves relocate to a secluded area so Void Steve would never find them again. After Void Steve is defeated, He is handed the Red Crystal by Professor Red. He later gives this to a Red Scout. Ever since then the Red Leader has lead the Red Steves and ordered they maintain the lie that their species is almost extinct. Hypno Steve Hypno Steve, after going through the portal to the past, started stalking Colle during his journey. He appeared in the Desert Village, Colle's mindscape, the meeting room of the leaders during the demon arc and others. He only makes 1 move during this time however, and that's saving Colle and the Red Leader from Void Steve's attack creating what the Red Leader called "Madness" to strike Void Steve away. It is assumed that creating that strike had killed Hypno since was next seen in the World Beyond when Colle had been talking to the victims of Void Steve. Rainbow Quest Kingdom Arc The Red leader made his first appearance when he decided to visit M's house and saw Sabre there. The Red Leader then started to lecture M that the Red Steves had been hiding for generations, asking why he would even think of bringing him to the kingdom, and how worried he was over M constantly being in and out of the kingdom. The Red Leader then becomes angry, revealing M is the red apprentice, asking why he would've done this. M tries to defend himself by stating things were going downhill in the Rainbow Kingdom. After hearing that the Red Leader retorts that when the Darkness returned he hadn't gone looking yet the moment the Rainbow Kingdom started doing bad he decided to go. M then reveals that he was there when Sabre defeated the Darkness, which the Red Leader also confirms, and the Red Leader brings up that they aren't supposed to intervene. M responds saying he thought there was more to it than that and the Red Leader tells him there isn't. The Red Leader then tries to justify keeping their secret by saying they are protecting the other Steves and M responds they're letting the others destroy themselves. Sabre then tries to interject into the conversation but the Red Leader yells at him to sit while the "grownups" talk. M then tells the Red Leader not to talk to Sabre that way and brings up that Sabre defeated the darkness, which the Steves had been fighting for generations, but the Red Leader instead blames Sabre for releasing it. M says that it was a accident and the Red Leader admits that Sabre had only done it under the false pretenses of a prophecy even the Red Steves were fooled by but even so his point still stands. Sabre then defends M by saying that he had hid his identity and the only reason Sabre even discovered he was a Red Steve was because M took off his hood before he came back to the Red Kingdom. M then brings up that he has stayed hidden from all the other Steves, narrowly avoiding Light Steve, and Sabre states that since he isn't a Steve no other Steve knows about them. The Red Leader then asks why Sabre wasn't immediately teleported out and Sabre explains he threatened to tell the Steves about the Red Steves if M had. The Red Leader then asks if they see the hypocrisy and they all agree that it was a bad move on Sabre's part. Sabre brings up that there are lots of things going on in the kingdom he cares about, which the Red Leader says he knows, and Sabre brings up they both care about their kingdoms but his contains all of the Steves who believe that the Red Steves are extinct and the last ones to exist were Rainbow Red and the Red Scout. The Red Leader counters saying he cares about everyone's Safety and Sabre responds saying it doesn't feel like it while M asks if the Red Leader doesn't think they should help, even secretly. The Red Leader responds to M saying yes and Sabre tells the Red Leader he understands him wanting to be cautious, so he brings up how the Green Steves also wanted to be cautious but couldn't stay away from the Steves for long. Sabre then brings up that the Red Steves represent wisdom and the Red Leader responds saying that this is a different scenario. Sabre agrees and states that they are all trying to do what's best. He then states that while the Red Leader may say he cares about everyone the intervention of the Red Steves is vital to the Rainbow Kingdom, he then brings up that there is a seat in the citadel waiting for the Red Steves and that they are welcomed in the kingdom. The Red Leader says that they are doing what's best but M questions him and reveals that they sent the Red Scout, to Sabre's surprise, and Sabre mentions that the Red Scout cared a lot about others. The Red Leader then sarcastically asks Sabre why he thinks they gave him the crystal. Sabre then states that the Red Leader trusted to Red Scout with the Red Crystal so since he trusted Sabre with it he asks the Red Leader to trust him. He then states that people are in danger, while the darkness is gone, a enemy from within is a problem. M then states that he trusts Sabre while the Red Leader decides to state for the record they didn't send Rainbow Red and Sabre acknowledges that it was clear Rainbow Red was acting of his own motives. The Red Leader called him a "crazed madman" and Sabre stated he is gone but the problems the Rainbow Kingdom is facing aren't. Sabre then goes on to say that M had been trying to tell him about the kingdom's problems, and that he understood why M was so cryptic, and he had been watching all of it and that anyone who had seem what M had seen would've wanted to help. Sabre then states that without the help of the Red Steves the kingdom will fall and since Sabre no longer has his powers he needs to rely upon the help of the Red Steves. The Red Leader then asks Sabre what he wants them to do, which Sabre responds saying he doesn't expect them to reveal themselves and M states that while he understands if the Red Leader doesn't trust Sabre but he does and will help him no matter what. The Red Leader then sarcastically suggests they pop in and magically fix all of Sabre's problems. Sabre then brings up that the Red Steves are the Steves on wisdom and the Rainbow Kingdom needs the knowledge of the past to prevent repeating those mistakes and only the Red Steves have lasted long enough to document it which is why they are being cautious. Sabre then brings up that it seems that every Red Steve that interacts with outside society either dies or goes insane but M brings up that Sabre is right and that they live longer than most Steves. The Red Leader shrugs it off by revealing they extend their lifespans while M reveals that they have been around since they first settled into the area. Sabre then brings up that he met Colle's clone and how he helped him so since the clone was able to help him the Red Steves should be able to help him a lot as well. The Red Leader then asks if Sabre wants his wisdom Sabre says yes and the Red Leader tells him to listen closely while Sabre acts excited. He then tells M to put Sabre back where he belongs while both M and Sabre react shocked. Sabre states that he thought they were having a moment while the Red Leader tells him too bad. The Red Leader tells M to send him away and M caves while Sabre tries to convince him not to. M tells Sabre he has to do it and the Red Leader tells M to meet him back at his house when he's done so he can lecture M and he leaves the house. Sabre, after being teleported to the Red Kingdom, disguises himself as M and sneaks to the Red Leader's house for his help. Upon entering the house the Red Leader asks whos there. Once he saw Sabre, believing he was M, he began saying how relived he was now that he was back and asked him what took him so long but the Red Leader let it go immediately after asking. Sabre then reveals himself and asks the Red Leader to stay calm so he can explain. The Red Leader states he won't yell and Sabre explains that he disguised himself as M so the Red Steves wouldn't know he was here, that M sent him here, and M found a loophole in the Red Leaders commands so he was helping Sabre take back the Rainbow Kingdom. The Red Leader began freaking out and decided to have both Sabre and him take a seat while they talk. Sabre tries to distract the Red Leader by complimenting his house but the Red Leader tells him now is not the time for that. Sabre then begins to apologize for M's actions but the Red Leader interrupts asking where M is. Sabre then starts cautiously explaining but the Red Leader becomes angry and yells asking where M is and Sabre responds explaining he had been captured in the Rainbow Kingdom and wasn't sure if M had either been destroyed or thrown in a cell. Sabre then apologizes for not knowing, he then starts stating he knows the Red Leader is upset but he has no where to go, acknowledging he said that last time, but all of his friends have been taken captive by a power hungry lunatic who's manipulating the Rainbow Kingdom. He then states that he is all thats left of the resistance and M knew that. He then explains that the lunatic that captured M had the ability to prevent people teleporting themselves but M found a way around it by teleporting only Sabre to the Red Kingdom. He then states that if M sent him to the Red Kingdom it must've been to get the Red Leader's help. The Red Leader asks what Sabre wants and Sabre tells him he needs his help. Sabre then compliments the Red Kingdom and apologizes for potentially putting it in danger he then states that he won't tell anyone about the kingdom and that M is most likely still hiding his identity so if he can get M back the secret can remain safe. The Red Leader then finally caves and decides to help Sabre with conditions without loopholes to them. Sabre agrees and the Red Leader explains that he will help Sabre get M back if he never shows his face in the Red Kingdom again or speaks to M and Sabre agrees. After agreeing Sabre begins walking away and asks the Red Leader to gather a fighting force to take the Rainbow Kingdom back. The Red Leader asks where Sabre is going and Sabre answers saying he thought they were going to go take the Rainbow Kingdom back and the Red Leader tells him no. Sabre becomes confused and tries to explain he needs to save his friends but the Red Leader states he isn't going with Sabre. Sabre then asks for a fighting force but the Red Leader tells him that no other Red Steves are going with Sabre. Sabre becomes confused and states that the Red Leader said he would help him. The Red Leader acknowledges he did and will honor his agreement. Sabre then asks if he is going to give him a powerful weapon but the Red Leader tells him no. Sabre remains confused and asks the Red Leader what he is going to do to help him since he had agreed to very strict terms. The Red Leader tells Sabre what he's going to give him is metaphorically powerful and asks who took M. Sabre then explains who Sol and the Corrected Sun. Once Sabre is done the Red Leader asks why Sol is in power and Sabre responds that he manipulated the citizens of the Rainbow Kingdom by preaching his cause was for the people when in reality it was for his own greed so when the kingdom was angry he gave them a outlet that benefited him. The Red Leader then states how M was fascinated with the minute details of outside world Sabre questions how thats gonna help and the Red Leader continues by stating M was fascinated by the details of how people acted and what gave them power. Sabre then compliments M, which the Red Leader agrees with, and then states that Sol gained power by manipulating the fear of the people into doing what Sol wanted and he has no idea how to stop that. He compares the situation to the Darkness stating it was so easy to turn against it because it was a external threat but the Corrected Sun are so difficult to defeat because they are a internal threat. The Red Leader states that people are powerful, and Sabre agrees stating Sol is, and people are more powerful than any organization. Sabre questions what that even means stating that the Red Leader agreed to helping but what hes saying isn't helping. The Red Leader then states that if Sol claims to be a product of the people and the people aren't at fault, Sabre then interrupts stating that the Red Leader isn't helping him the way he thought he would. The Red Leader then asks what gives Sol power besides fear and then states that fear is nothing. Sabre disagrees stating that fear is something when it takes control but then he starts to ask what the people fear realizing they don't fear anything. The Red Leader then states that while fear can make you faster and stronger it means nothing. Sabre then states that the Red Leader's advice isn't giving him something to go off of and he was expecting to receive a amulet with unlimited power or something. The Red Leader then states that if people believe in a cause then Sabre needs to remind them what that cause is. Sabre then asks why the Red Leader is being so vague and asks if theres a simple answer that would help him more. The Red Leader then states that Sol will be powerless if he doesn't have the people he claims to have. Sabre thanks the Red Leader for the conversation stating he took something from it even though he feels like he didnt get much help and the Red Leader says goodbye then teleports Sabre away. Demon Arc Sabre teleports to the Red Kingdom, disguises himself as M, and sneaks into the Red Leader's house. The Red Leader seems suspicious of the disguise but Sabre assures him that he is M. The Red Leader comments on how long it took him to come back and Sabre apologizes saying he had to deal with a issue. The Red Leader tells him its fine and Sabre asks if its okay to ask him a question and the Red Leader tells him its okay. Sabre then inquires about the "unspoken problem" and the Red Leader tells him knowledge should be sought out whenever possible but stops. Sabre states that he assumes the Red Leader knows what hes talking about and the Red Leader responds saying he should know about it. Sabre tries to play it off as if he does but wants a refresher for safety's sake. The Red Leader states Sabre's decision is wise and Sabre states how he heard from his "reports and studies" that people had been experiencing reality feeling off or different with changes that cannon be explained. The Red Leader confirms those things have happened and Sabre then inquires about the origin of the events. The Red Leader tries to explains but struggles. Sabre then apologizes for pushing for the information while the Red Leader tells him its fine but its hard to explain. Sabre asks why and tells the Red Leader to try to explain as best he can. The Red Leader then explains that the "unspoken problem" originates from evil itself. He then asks if Sabre knows about the World Beyond and Sabre responds saying he knows its where the souls of the dead go since hes a Red Steve, like the Red Leader, and knows lots of things. The Red Leader then reveals that the World Beyond has a opposite known as the World Below. Sabre tries to act as if he remembers hearing of it from his "studies" under the Red Leader which the Red Leader confirms. Sabre then asks if theres a way to access the World Below besides the natural way like the World Beyond or is it impossible like the World Beyond. The Red Leader then asks if Sabre remembers how Professor Red had discovered a way to access the World Below and how his research on it helped him make a name for himself. Sabre tries to play it off as if he forgot and the Red Leader mentions Professor Red lost his sanity because of his research. Sabre then asks for a refresher about accessing the World Below to prevent himself from accidentally doing it. The Red Leader hesitates telling Sabre but Sabre reassures him that he wants to know so he can prevent it if it were to happen. The Red Leader then explains that wherever a conflict has occurred, which Sabre links to the village he was at, a slight connection is created. Those spots are the weakest points between the worlds and can become a breach in between the. He then explains that you have to search the area for anything out of place or something that feels like it doesn't belong in the Overworld. Sabre begins questioning to himself what that would look like and the Red Leader gives him the example of it looking like a portal, Sabre then links the portal he saw to this information. The Red Leader then explains that the portal is the access point and that if Redstone blocks, which he gives to Sabre, are place around it the portal will be forced to open. Sabre thanks the Red Leader but the Red Leader warns him that opening a portal to the World Below is forbidden which Sabre responds trying to play off that he won't be opening a portal and thanks the Red Leader for reminding him stating his memory has been fuzzy lately. The Red Leader then explains that no one has ever willingly gone to the World Below and came back. Sabre tells himself that fact is terrifying and assures the Red Leader that its a good thing he isn't going to open a portal anytime soon. The Red Leader then states that the only one to have returned from the World Below is Professor Red but it was likely a exception since he only went halfway through the portal. He then states that regardless the damage to him was severe and Sabre thanks the Red Leader for the lesson complimenting him. Sabre then makes up a excuse to leave and the Red Leader tells Sabre to go back to his studies and to keep them safe Sabre agrees and thanks the Red Leader again but the Red Leader stops him saying he isn't feeling well. The Red Leader then sneezes and teleports Sabre to the Rainbow Kingdom. Sabre goes back to the Red Kingdom to say his goodbyes to M but upon hearing the lightning from the teleportation the Red Leader runs, from halfway behind the kingdom, to see M. The Red Leader becomes out of breath and welcomes M back and M responds asking if hes alright and how fast he ran. The Red Leader responds saying he ran very fast and then states that normally he would be angry but instead hes just glad that M is back. M then gets the Red Leader to start moving away so they can talk and the Red Leader states he needs to sit down and does so. M questions if the Red Leader has
