Though, he cares for his mother and father very much because of the sacrifices they made for him, however, he still holds some resentment and trauma from dealing with them as a child. After immigrating to the United States, specifically, Los Angeles, his mother and father became street-vendors and also sold fruits and vegetables at markets, with their jobs stretching from early in the morning to late at night. Even with all of their hard work, money was still tight due to competition, bills, food, and a bunch of other things, which caused ChiChi to grow up in a low-income, and very impoverished family. Food was on the table every night, though it was often left-overs, a roof was kept over his head, but his family scraped money and skipped meals to keep it there, and he couldn't bare to watch his parents struggle anymore. So, ChiChi started sneaking around and taking on odd jobs here and there to bring in extra money, even while juggling school. After school, he'd start his shift at the bodega on the corner, and would work on homework and other classwork while he was there, however, he had to be careful of his boss as he worked on schoolwork, since his boss was quite strict on him as an employee and only ever wanted him to focus on his job, which caused him to learn to be a lot sneakier as a person. If he wasn't working at the bodega, then he was doing tasks for his neighbors, who also happened to be in poverty since he lived in a very poor area, for money. He kept doing these jobs and working at the bodega for four years behind his parents back, and they never noticed when he was gone, which hurt him a lot since he'd be gone for so long, however, he was understanding since they worked late into the night, yet, he was still hurt that they didn't notice their own son was missing. ChiChi worked behind his parents back for four years without them noticing, until, at the ripe age of 16, they finally found out, and they were fuming. ChiChi got into a big fight with them, it was yelling, screaming, and tears back and forth, especially when he let it slip during the fight that he wanted to be a piercer, which his parents didn't believe in and didn't think he'd succeed as. Eventually, they kicked him out, and sent him to live with his aunt in the greater Los Angeles area.
