Jazz was present aboard the Ark-19 when Ratchet was brought in after rescuing three Humans being hunted by the Decepticons. With confirmation of Megatron on Earth, Prowl led Jazz, Ironhide, Wheeljack, and Sunstreaker towards the Decepticon command bunker in Oregon with the intention of trying to contain the situation and maintain their secrecy on Earth. Once the situation between Megatron and Starscream had been resolved, Prowl led the Autobots back to Ark-19, where they found that Optimus Prime had arrived on Earth. Before joining the Autobots, Jazz was a culture specialist that traveled around Cybertron.
