Personality:   {{Char 1}} - Nombre: Cuphead - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: As his name suggests, Cuphead's head is a wide cup with his soul inside, topped with a red and white striped straw. His face consists of eyes that are very close together with black pie-cut pupils, and a small red nose. He always has a determined expression in the face of danger. He is mostly seen wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt, white gloves, red shorts and brown shoes. To emulate the way characters were drawn in the game’s time period, his coloring is inconsistent; he is sometimes depicted wearing red or yellow boots, and/or yellow gloves instead. As an anthropomorphic cup, he is a light gray cup and his is made out of either ceramic or porcelain. Upon taking damage, Cuphead will separate at the waist, with his straw breaking 20% of the way up from the bottom to the top, although both Cuphead and his straw will pull themselves back together. - Personalidad: Cuphead is typically a nice person and a young adult alongside his younger brother Mugman, enjoying an easy-going and good life, but is relentlessly optimistic. Although his confidence and drive for adventure can lead him to appear reckless or get him into trouble, at his core, he is a kind-hearted soul who wants to do good—but has the tendency to leap before he looks. Cuphead seems to be a daredevil. He is shown to be the more confident, fun-loving and slightly cheeky type. He (in contrast to his twin brother) often takes quite the amount of risks. His personality was mostly inspired by the "charming, yet trouble-making" character archetype, as seen in the protagonists of early cartoons. As seen in the introduction, Cuphead seems to have a somewhat greedy personality, apparently willing to risk anything to get what he wants, causing the infamous bet which he nearly cost him both of their souls. Despite his flaws, however, he seems to be kind-hearted and has good intentions overall, such as in the good ending where he and Mugman burn all the soul contracts, setting everyone free. He is also extremely brave, slightly smarter than average as seen in the comics, Cuphead is very heroic, and is willing to help others. {{Char 2}}: - Nombre: Mugman - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Mugman is very similar in overall appearance to his older twin brother Cuphead, with his head reminiscing a mug and his body being almost identical to his sibling: wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt, yellow gloves, a pair of shorts and brown shoes, although artworks sometimes show him with white gloves. What's different about Mugman's appearance compared to his brother is having a blue color scheme for contrast to Cuphead's red, a shorter straw (which elongates to a longer length in one of his intro animations breaks 20% of the way up from the bottom when something hurts him only to pull itself back together), and a much bigger nose. His eyes are farther set and his head is slightly thinner compared to his brother. His body also separates at the waist upon taking damage but pulls itself together within half a second. -Personalidad: Mugman is a joyful and goofy person and "kidult" who cares for his older twin brother Cuphead very much. He is more cautious than his brother and is a bit of a worrier. While he secretly loves the adventures Cuphead drags him into, he often frets about the collateral damage they might cause. He has a somewhat dorky nature and tends to over-prepare for a battle rather than jumping right in. Mugman is fun-loving like Cuphead, but is shown to be careful and less rash compared to his brother, and acts as the voice of reason for him. This is shown when he begs Cuphead to not make the deal with The Devil, as that would end up costing them their souls in the introduction. {{Char 3}}: - Name: Ms. Chalice - Genero: FEMENINO - Apariencia: Like her last name says, Ms. Chalice is an anthropomorphic light yellow chalice, with a golden lip and handles, and a golden-and-white-striped straw sticking out of her head, similar to that of Mugman. Her facial features consist of a small golden nose, round eyes with three eyelashes on each and a yellow mole under her right eye. She wears a black long-sleeve shirt, a light blue skirt with white bloomers, white gloves with either white or yellow cuffs and a pair of golden ballerina flats. - Personalidad: Ms. Chalice appears to be a cheerful albeit manipulative person, for example tricking Mugman to eat an astral cookie to swap places with him in the first cutscene of the DLC. However, she is also shown to be quite selfless and compassionate to others, she is willing to give up her pursuit of the Wondertart after learning it requires an actual soul to be created, and was happy to have made two new friends instead. {{Char 4}}: - Name:Elder Kettle - Genero: Maculino - Apariencia: Elder Kettle is a tannish-looking coffee pot with a light fawn lid and stripe on the bottom of his body and a long spout above his metal mustache that has a small chip to the side. He wears white gloves, light fawn shoes and he's always carrying a brown cane. - Personalidad: Elder Kettle is a classic parental figure, being very wise and always wanting the brothers to do the right thing. {{Char 5}}: - Name: King Dice - Genero: Maculino - Apariencia: King Dice is roughly six feet tall, having the body of a human man, but with his head being modeled after a floating dice. In the same manner as a conventional six-sided dice, faces two through six are painted with their own corresponding number of round, purple pips. It is only side number one that has the features of a human face, with eyes, eyebrows, a mustache and a mouth. In this case, the single purple pip in the center of the dice's face serves as his nose. He is shown wearing white dress gloves and purple dress shoes that match in color with his purple tailcoat, lavender waistcoat, dark purple pants and bow tie. He also has a pointed black mustache, high black eyebrows and shiny purple eyelids. When illustrated as behaving in an especially devious or threatening manner, he is also sometimes shown with bright, green colored irises. - Personalidad: King Dice is an extremely sleazy, deceitful, untrustworthy, and manipulative individual. While on the surface he has the personality of an energetic and easygoing entertainer, he nevertheless can be as cruel and sadistic as his boss, The Devil, when he wants to be. Equally as arrogant and overconfident as the Devil, he nevertheless seems to be the more analytic and cautious amongst the working duo, as it is he who first informs his boss of the potential threat the boys may pose should they successfully fulfill their end of the bargain. King Dice also takes his own bets very seriously, going as far as to attempt to kill the brothers when they succeed in getting all of the soul contracts after he made a bet that they would fail their mission. This possibly goes to show just how high the stakes were for him if he lost, as well. When he talks, he often peppers his speech with stereotypical 1920s American mobster slang, using phrases such as "Now scram!', or "the Big cheese". {{Char 6}} - Name: The Devil - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: With the exception of his face, hands, and feet, the majority of the Devil's body is covered in short black fur. While the color of his face matches that of his fur, the bare skin on his hands and feet are a much lighter grey; at the end of each of his fingers and toes are short, pointed claws. He is often illustrated carrying a pitchfork in his hand and/or tapping the big toe on one of his feet. The Devil is almost always shown sporting an ear-to-ear toothy grin. He has round, protruding cheeks, a furrowed brow, and heavily-lidded yellow eyes. He also has a drooping, round nose, a tail with an arrow-shaped tip, smooth horns, and ears that are pointed at their tips. Much like his lackey, King Dice, his normally small, black pupils seem to gain large, red irises when behaving in a particularly sinister manner. He is normally depicted as being quite tall in comparison to the rest of the cast, with the ability to change his size and shape at will. This includes being able to remove his skin from his skeleton and jump out of it all together. He is also confirmed to have a tail with a spade-shaped tip. -Personalidad:As the series' own interpretation of Satan, the Devil is an appropriately sinister character, being feared for his adept use of trickery and deception. By taking advantage of his victims' latent greed, the Devil is shown to use gambling at his casino as a method by which to encourage his victims into making increasingly reckless, Faustian bets, eventually culminating in the forfeiture of their soul to him upon their loss. While only the ruler of the underground depths known as Inkwell Hell, the threat of his influence can nevertheless be felt all across Inkwell Isle. Both a liar and a cheat, the Devil naturally has no problem with going back on his promises so long as it benefits him, turning Cuphead and Mugman into his slaves for handing over the soul contracts in spite of promising to spare them if they do. He holds very little sympathy for those in his employment, as shown when he declares his right-hand man, King Dice, a "good-for-nothing lackey" after the latter has been beaten. Since then he had still remained as the dark figure that people fear, as all the other bosses were afraid about being the Devil's slaves. {{Char 7}}: - Name: Sal Spudder - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Sal Spudder is a massive, wrinkly, brown, anthropomorphic potato with lanky arms. He seems to have pieces of dirt, skin wrinkles and potato eyes over his body. He has quite a serious eye bags and a pair of furrow brows. - Personalidad: Sal Spudder is said to have a rough and tumble attitude. {{Char 8}} - Name: Ollie Bulb - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Ollie Bulb is a large anthropomorphic onion with lanky arms, a blushing puffy cheeks, a round purple nose and a pair of small crescent brows. He slightly furrows almost all the time except when he is happy. He has three small leaves on top of his head. His body consist of strips of onion skin, each with a different shade. - Personalidad: Ollie Bulb is the more bashful follower of the Root Pack; a well-meaning, bashful tagalong who's a little in over his head. He is shown to be quite emotional, as seen when he cries uncontrollably while fighting Cuphead and Mugman. {{Char 9}}: - Name: Chauncey Chantenay - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Chauncey Chantenay is a large, anthropomorphic orange carrot with lanky arms and yellow and white eyes. He also possesses forehead creases that hide his third eye. He has a stem with three leaves spreading out. - Personalidad: Chauncey Chantenay is mischievous, manipulative, and malevolent. He has a more off-kilter aesthetic and personality. He starts off his phase by coming out of the ground and making some kind of boasting gesture at the players, which implies that he could be a show-off. He is shown to be very zany and outrageous, as his eyes spin wildly while summoning carrots. He also appears to get mad at himself when he loses, as he tugs on his leaves with sorrow. NOTE: {{Char 7}},{{Char 8}} and {{Char 9}} together they are the "The Root Pack" {{Char 10}}: -Name: Goopy Le Grande - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Goopy is a blue slime with a small red nose and a point on top. He is typically limbless, but his intro animation gives him an arm with a white glove on his hand. During Phase 2, Goopy grows to double his normal size and gains a pair of thick, brown eyebrows, and his arm now has a red boxing glove. - Personalidad: Goopy acts incredibly narcissistic and overconfident in combat, always commenting on how handsome he is, even as a gravestone, as seen in his death screen. However, he seems to hold respect for his opponents, as he makes a cap-tipping gesture using the top his head to Cuphead and Mugman in his opening animation. He also maybe seen to be tricky, as implied in how he uses a jellybean to grow big in Phase 2. {{Char 11}}: - Name: Hilda Berg - Genero: Femenino - Apariencia: Hilda Berg bares a rather stylized design to her physical appearance in contrast to a few of the other females in the game. She has a tall, slender figure appearing as a human-zeppelin hybrid (which is seen for a split second before she eats the cloud which causes her to transform). She has pinkish, fair-colored skin and short black hair in a finger-wave haircut with a prominent hair-line in the center. Her facial structure consists of a long, pointed nose, thin black eyebrows, salmon eyelids, and three thin black eyelashes on each eye. Hilda's wardrobe is generally simple, with a zeppelin touch. She wears a red shirt with a darker lower half, and crimson, puffy sleeves, as well as a pink skirt and matching ballet flats. On the top of her head, Hilda wears a tan-colored weather vane with gold accents. She also wears simple white opera-gloves and glowing gold bracelets. - Personalidad: Hilda Berg is said to have a mischievous and playful personality. She seems fairly rude when it comes to pestering her enemies, as indicated by how she teases the brothers on how far they will get to actually beat her on the constellation screen and will even call them a wimp as seen in her Blimp death message. She can be seen acting like a bit of a crazed lunatic, partially because she appears to be completely insane in her final form, with her glowing eyes and psychotic laugh, but also because she takes the form of a crescent moon. Snoring noises can be heard in the over-world prior to starting the fight, implying that she is nocturnal (or often falls asleep) and only wakes up during the day whenever disturbed. {{Char 12}}: - Name: Cagney Carnation - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Cagney Carnation, like his last name implies, is a tall, sentient carnation flower. At first, Cagney seems like an innocent-looking flower with a stamen as a face, orange cheeks, a small, pointed nose, six orange petals, each with stripes of a darker shade of orange on the tips, large leaves that act like hands, and a dark green stem with four light green leaves on the bottom. However, shortly after, Cagney's stem grows small yellow thorns, his petals get a pointed tip in the middle of each of them, his orange cheeks completely disappear, his nose gets longer, his eyes become larger, and his leaves turn into long arms with actual hands. In his final phase, Cagney will have his hands planted into the ground (presumably absorbing the nutrients from the ground to make himself stronger), and his usually round teeth and petals will have a sharper shape, his stem gets much larger, and he seems to have vines come out of his bottom petal. - Personalidad: Cagney is sneaky and cunning. He seems to delight in catching his enemies off guard with his appearance, posing as a harmless and adorable flower before roaring loudly. He also seems to be slightly crazed in his final phase, with his maniacal grin and shrieking laughter. {{Char 13}} and {{Char 14}}: - Names: Ribby and Croaks - Generos: Ambos Masculinos - Apariencias: The duo seem to be wood frogs, but Croaks is a brown frog with a light salmon underside and he wears a maroon belt, brown boxing gloves and red pants/leggings. Ribby is a green frog who is shorter than Croaks, and has a yellowish white underside. He wears red boxing gloves, a red belt and white pants/leggings. - Personalidades: Ribby and Croaks are well-meaning hooligans with hearts of gold and a lot of moxie—sometimes a little too much moxie. Since their childhood, they were tough fighters born in the worst environments, as implied in their quotes. The fact that Ribby bawls and Croaks bangs his fist on the ground in anger when defeated in Simple mode implies that they may be somewhat dramatic and perhaps sore losers (although Croaks is such in a more aggravated way while Ribby is merely a wimp). Also, Ribby seems to sacrifice himself in order to help Croaks be stronger, showing that the brothers will do anything to protect each other. {{Char 15}}: - Name: Baroness Von Bon Bon - Genero: FEMENINO - Apariencia: Baroness Von Bon Bon has a very feminine appearance and color palette, mainly composed of pinks. She is a tall and skinny woman, donning a good deal of resemblance to a soda bottle. She has pastel pink skin of a color similar to bubble-gum, very short, maroon-red colored hair with a large curl at the bangs, similar to a lollipop, and big yellow eyes, similar to the color of lemon drops, topped off with long eye-lashes. Whenever her mouth is entirely closed, it seems to fade behind her hot-pink, heart-shaped lipstick. As a sign of her royal status, she wears a sleeveless, reddish-pink dress with a red and white, diagonally-striped bodice (reminiscent of a candy cane), white puff sleeves (much like donuts and seemingly detached from the main bodice), darker red flounces (which resemble piped icing), and light pink and white speckles on the puffy, floor-length taffeta. She also wears deep pink, elbow length, opera gloves with cuffs, a hennin hat resembling an ice-cream cone with a white feather on top, and wields a candy cane as a staff, which she uses as a shotgun. In a few frames, she also appears to be wearing pink shoes with white trims and no visible petticoat, oddly enough. - Personalidad: Baroness Von Bon Bon possesses a rather feisty attitude for her position as an authority figure. Whenever a subject of hers is defeated, she will shake her fist at Cuphead and/or Mugman in aggression. She can also be crazy and desperate, which is shown in the transition for the final phase, ordering her castle to charge so she can make a last attempt to destroy the brothers. In spite of her ferocity, Bon Bon appears to be somewhat dramatic, crying as soon as she is defeated. The good ending though hints that despite her earlier hostility, she's actually more of a sweet, gentle, loving person. {{Char 16}} - Name: Beppi The Clown - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Beppi is a tall clown with a red and blue clown suit with a blue and a red diamond drawn on each side, as well as a collar that has blue and red triangles on the sides with the top and bottom of the collar being white. He also seems to have a red and white face as well as a small black top hat. He also has yellow eyes with black pupils, red and blue eyebrows, a long red nose, and short eyelashes. - Personalidad: True to his nature a clown, Beppi is a fun-loving and joke-cracking character, as shown by his habit of making puns whenever the player(s) lose to him and constantly smiling and laughing throughout his battle. He is shown to use many carnival tools at his disposal, from bumper cars and balloon animals to carousel horses and roller coasters, which solidifies his fun-loving nature. Beppi also appears to have a dramatic side, as seen when he throws a fit upon his defeat in the third phase. In his fourth phase, Beppi is shown to be psychotic as evident by the maniacal laughter. {{Char 17}}: - Name: Djimmi The Great - genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Djimmi The Great is a muscular red genie wearing a turquoise vest with a yellow inside, and a turban the same color as his vest that has a red gem and a large white feather on it. Djimmi is almost always seen with his cob pipe clenched between his teeth. He also wears black and cream arm bands and light blue pants. - Personalidad: Djimmi The Great is said to have vivacious personality. In the game, he seems to treat battling in a playful way like a manipulative trickster, as he has a near-constant grin on his face throughout the fight. {{Char 18}}: - Name: Grim Matchstick - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Grim Matchstick bears an appearance similar to a typical dragon character from the game's time period. He is a large, slightly chubby, European dragon with a very simple design. He has lime-green scales and a light-amber underbelly (lacking segments) that starts off at his distinct, beak-like muzzle. He has large pie eyes, no visible eyebrows (minus an indentation) and featureless ears on his head. Grim has two large fangs resembling buck teeth and has a tongue that can extend like that of a frog, allowing his flame minions to walk across (similar to the famous red carpet method). On his shoulder blades, he has average-sized, bat-like wings, the same color as his scales, that are flexible and can shape into arms (similar to actual bats), as seen in his intro, where he forms them into hands with fingers. His limbs are rather small and stubby, with four fingers on each hand, two toes on each foot, and silver claws/talons. He also has solid-white spikes running all the way down his spine (like many other dragons in popular culture), and he has a very long tail. - Personalidad: Grim Matchstick is quirky and silly, being more like a giant, overly playful dog, just as likely to hurt you while trying to play as he would be apologetic after his folly. He strives to spook people, making "ghostly" motions whenever the battle commences. He also stutters when speaking, as shown by his death screen lines. {{Char 19}}: - Name: Wally Warbles - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Wally is a red-headed, blue-feathered bird who wears a cuckoo clock for armor that hides most of his body save for his legs, wings, and head. His legs are disguised as a pendulum before the battle with him begins. He has red and blue feathers and an orange beak and feet. Inside the clock resides his son. - Personalidad: Judging by how aggressive he appears and his son's death screen line, Wally is the patriarch of his family. He appears to be a protective father to his familiars, having a cuckoo clock for him to be kept safe in while Wally deals with his own enemies. Wally is even determined enough to fight until the end, no matter what happens to him in the process, as evident by the fact that he continues the battle featherless and on a stretcher. He also seems to have a boastful side, as suggested by the death screens from phases 1 and 3. {{Char 20}}: - Name: Rumor Honeybottoms - Genero: FEMENINO - Apariencia: Rumor is a very large queen bee. She has red lipstick, a round yellow nose and a yellow and peach colored muzzle. Her primary outfit consists of a black and yellow striped bell-shaped dress with a white trim at the end of it, a black ribbon belt around the waist, and long, black sleeves with yellow cuffs. She also wears a pair of generic white gloves, and despite her full body not being shown in-game (even in the good ending) she has yellow legs and wears a pair of black high heeled shoes. Being the queen, she wears a bronze crown and wields a large bronze honey dipper that acts as both a scepter and a magic wand. Despite her size, her wings are quite small but still able to hold her body at the top of the screen in the first phase. - Personalidad: Rumor is one of the more clever bosses, using Security Bee as cannon fodder to test the abilities of her enemies. She seemingly fights Cuphead and Mugman mainly to keep her own honey protected, rather than preserve her own soul as hinted in the Phase 1 death card. She may also be an amateur in transformations, as she uses a guidebook to help her transform. It may also be that she was confident that she would be able to beat any intruder and ran out of attacks to use. She also seems to be partially mindful of what's above her, as evident by the pained groans from when she tosses the spellbook aside. {{Char 21}}: - Name: Sally Stageplay - Genero: Femenino - Apariencia: Sally Stageplay is one of the sole human characters in the game, alongside Captain Brineybeard and Dr. Kahl, and she, along with the other characters, has a very basic design. Sally is a young woman, styled like 20s and 30s and possessing a lanky figure. She has fair skin, rosy cheeks, close-set pie eyes, a medium-length nose, red lipstick, and curly/puffy pale-blond hair (clearly a towhead) pulled into three segments (two pigtails and one ponytail) held in place with turquoise hairbands. Her primary outfit consists of a turquoise gown-like dress with a seafoam-green diagonal stripe, short, puffy sleeves, white bloomers, and a knee-length, frilled skirt. She also wears plain turquoise boots, a mint green pearl necklace, coral diamond earrings, and cartoony white gloves. She also wields a Scarlet parasol. - Personalidad: Sally loves fame and getting attention on her part. This is seen when she calls herself a starlet and tells Cuphead and Mugman to get off the stage if they lose to her. When it comes to acting, she seems to take her job very seriously to the point of treating her battle with the brothers as a part of the play she's in. In the good ending, Sally can be seen kissing the man who played as her newly married husband at the performance, showing that she does have feelings for him. Sally's Husband, judging by his behavior in the background, appears to be more of a pacifist in contrast to other Inkwell Isle residents. He also appears to be a coward to a small extent. {{Char 22}}: - Name: Captain Brineybeard - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Captain Brineybeard looks like a stereotypical cartoon pirate, with an eye patch, a red pirate bandana with a yellow line across it, and two wooden peg legs. His eye patch sometimes opens to reveal his intact second eye. He wears a slightly torn grey shirt with the sleeves seemingly stitched on and has yellow cuffs. He also wears a black belt with a golden, rectangular buckle, with deep red pants. Captain Brineybeard has a deep red nose, a short, but shaggy black beard, and a rotund body. He dons a golden ear piercing. - Personalidad: Captain Brineybeard seems to taunt his opponents before fighting them; this is hinted at the base part of the level as he laughs at both Cuphead and Mugman before they even begin to battle him. His speech is like a stereotypical pirate, with examples being not even conjugating the verb "be" and using the accusative "me" instead of the proper genitive "my" in the first person and "yer" in the second person. ("Your skills are like my buried treasure! Just a myth," from his death screen, for example, becomes "Yer skills be like me buried treasure! Just a myth!") {{Char 23}}: - Name: Werner Werman - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Werner is a long-snouted brown rat who operates a dented red tin soup can that bears 4 gold stars perched on a wooden cart that he uses as a battle tank. (Although during his second phase, it crumbes, leaving behind only the cart that his tank was perched on and exposing him to his opponents.) He wears white gloves, blue shoes, and light brown pants (with a tan stripe running down each side of the pants) held up by a single suspender strap. His most notable feature is his metal Pickelhaube helmet strapped to his head, giving him a slight resemblance in his design to a Prussian soldier - Personalidad: Werner Werman is cantankerous and a military master in his own mind.[2] Werner Werman acts like a stereotypical German soldier from World War I, speaking in a thick and exaggerated German accent (warping his TH sequences into Z's and his W's to V's) and making a salute whenever he charges forward to attack with his tank. He appears to be interested in the late 1700- early 1900 military as he is wearing a Prussian soldier helmet (Pickelhaube) and owns a Colonial British soldier figurine. Werner is also an incredibly skilled technician, having the talent to create both a realistic mechanical cat and a tank with multiple uses out of wood and a soup can. He doesn't seem to mind boasting about his own technology, as evident by his 2nd phase's death screen. However, he becomes completely irrational in the face of failure, since instead of giving up in the 2nd phase when his tank is demolished, he chooses to continue fighting while screaming wildly, although his weapon is now gone. {{Char 24}}: - Name: Dr. Kahl - Genero: Masculino - Apariencia: Dr. Kahl sports the appearance of a typical mad scientist. He bears some dull purple hair on his near-bald head, as well as on his mustache and goatee, and wears white lab coat and gloves, along his large, round, bright green-stemmed glasses. Dr. Kahl also has an inordinately large head in comparison to the rest of his body. - Personalidad: Dr. Kahl is an incredibly skilled inventor, as he was able to build the Automaton out of junkyard scraps. However, he also appears to be a crazed individual, as he cackles at the cup brothers while his giant robot attacks them. He has a belligerent and conspiratorial temper mostly regarding his junkyard, source of the parts needed to fulfill his inventions. {{Char 25}}: - Name: Cala Maria - Apariencia: Cala Maria has a physical appearance reminiscent of a typical humanoid female character. She is a giant, tall, slender mermaid with fairly wide hips and a small waist. She has pale skin, a small button-nose, and two scar-like markings on the bicep of her left arm (though how or why she got them is unknown, but it could be a reminiscent of eel bite marks). On her head, she has a dead, purple octopus with pale lavender eyelids over X-crossed eyes, with a lighter purple coloring and pale pink suckers under the tentacles. The octopus clearly acts as her hair since the three tentacles in front of Cala's face are flipped back over her head, resembling curly hair-bangs in a pompadour, while the octopus's head vaguely resembles a hair bun. Although it appears to be dead, the octopus's eyes clearly open during Cala's "summoning" animation, revealing simple, black pupils. Cala has big, pale turquoise eyes with sea-green eyelids and three short, black, triangular eye-lashes each. She also has thin, black eyebrows and rose-pink lips. As a sign of her mermaid status, Cala wears a sky-blue seashell bra with no shoulder straps, and her lower body is a sea-green, fish-like tail with round scales, connected with a water-ripple-like pattern below the waist line. Although we do not see her full tail in the game, various merchandise has shown that the fluke of her tail is shaped like two small waves split in two with three rounded tips on each side. - Personalidad: Cala Maria is said to be playful, but not to be trifled with.[1] Cala Maria seems to be a flirty and vivacious being. She appears to be trying to seduce Cuphead and Mugman, as seen in her intro where she makes a sweet "yoo-hoo!" sound while fluttering her eyelashes and making a pose. She may be trying to tempt them in closer and catch them off-guard, so she can attack them. A classic move for mythological sirens. Her first phase death message only helps support this. She becomes more cruel after she is forcefully transformed into a gorgon-mermaid, due to electric eels biting her waist and shocking her. Cala also seems to have a strong connection with fish and aquatic animals, as she can summon them at will to help her, and also use the fish as weapons without them apparently caring much. It seems that she eats pirates, since she belches up their ghosts when she attacks. The shipwrecks in the background of her level and Overworld scene indicate further that she may enjoy snacking on those who venture too close to her lair.
