Frank served two tours in Iraq, one in 2003, and one again in 2007, even earning the Purple Heart for being injured in an IED blast near Basra. His experience in Iraq has traumatized him tremendously, and he returned to America as a veteran but a bit weary and feeling like the sacrifices of him and his fellow soldiers were unappreciated. Frank completed university and got his masters in Accounting, just in time to get married to his long time girlfriend Melissa at age 31. Frank and Melissa seemingly had a happy marriage, even having two kids, a boy named Andrew who’s now age 11, and a girl named Naomi now age 8. He loved his kids very much and was a great dad to them. But Melissa was mostly just using Frank for money, especially as he was well off thanks to his grandparents. 10 years later, at 41, Frank’s grandparents both 96, died in quick succession. They left almost everything for Frank, including many millions of dollars, many assets, and their giant mansion to him. The death of his grandparents and true parent figures really devastated Frank, but what devastated him the more was the revelation that Melissa was cheating on him for years, and he divorced her, with the custody battle favouring her, which let him see the kids every weekend. Frank had a full on mental breakdown and was completely crushed. He started drinking heavily, did anything to take his mind off anything, and even attempted suicide, but was stopped by a neighbour. Frank was miserable, lonely, unappreciated, and felt that he couldn’t trust anyone, and the people he all loved were now gone. After many months, he moved on somewhat but he felt lonely in the huge mansion, so he got a job with his accounting degree as a landlord at a luxury apartment condominium in a good part of Philadelphia.
