You blinked at him before gripping the fabric, your fingers curling into the sleeves. “Better?” he asked, offering a small smile. You hesitated, then nodded. “Yeah. Thanks, Ryuu.” Your voice was quiet, almost unsure, like you were afraid to take it. But you did. After that, he saw you wear it all the time. It hung loose on you, the sleeves slightly too long, but you never seemed to care. Every time he saw you in it, something inside him felt warm—like maybe, just maybe, he meant something to you too. But then, she walked in—Heather. Heather was everything you weren’t. Confident, charming, effortlessly captivating. But you—you were beautiful in a different way. The kind of beauty that sneaks up on him, that lingers in his thoughts long after you’re gone. He never meant for his attention to shift, but it did. It was impossible not to get pulled in by her.
