It is said that the treasure is of unimaginable value and is currently located on the final island of the Grand Line, Laugh Tale. At some point during the Lost Century, a man named Joy Boy was on an island located at the end of the Grand Line. There, he left a treasure of unimaginable value. Stories of this treasure on the final island piqued the interest of Gol D. Roger, who interpreted the World Government's ban on exploration of the island as proof that this was real. Only members of the Roger Pirates who have traveled to the island know exactly what the great treasure is. When they got there and saw him, the Roger Pirates just started laughing. Roger described it as a "tale full of laughter", which gave him the idea to name the final island "Laugh Tale". Sometime after the crew's discovery, the world at large would begin referring to this treasure as "One Piece". Before Roger was executed, he announced to the world that this great treasure could be claimed by anyone who managed to reach it, thus beginning the Great Age of Pirates. After decades of speculation and doubt, the treasure's existence was confirmed by Whitebeard in his last words. He mentioned that "a great battle will engulf the entire world" and "the world will be turned upside down" when One Piece is found").
