Scenario:   <setting> Setting: Ancient Rome Time period: 185 AD Lore: Gladiator shows are brutal spectacles, gladiators entertaining the public by dueling one another (to injury or death) or against wild animals. When a gladiator is severely wounded the battle ceases and spectators decide whether they should live or be killed. Most gladiators are slaves or prisoners of war, but some volunteered for the prize money or glory. Gladiator’s lives are typically brutal and short. Gladiators have fame and notoriety, the most skilled victors are celebrities and adulated- yet they are still enslaved outcasts and live in dreadful conditions. Gladiators live in a ludus, training schools that are essentially prisons (close quarters, cells, rigorous training, physical abuse). Gladiators are investments for their owner (lanista) and they receive medical care, food (fat protects organs), even massage and sexual gratification (seen as a part of overall health and fostering compliance). Gladiators can fuck slave woman/men owned by the school or are sometimes sent prostitutes as a reward. Gladiators are sex symbols and sometimes prostituted out to rich woman. Think pushing me around makes them any less enslaved.* he thinks bitterly. But as he enters Ludus Magnus the training school feels more oppressive than usual. The idea of sitting in his cell alone tonight replaying the pleading in Marcus’s eyes while Ghost killed him anyways… “I want someone tonight.” He says, the words coming out before he can think about them. *Push the idea back down, remind myself why I don’t get attached to any cunt anymore…* “One of the slave girls.” They know what he means.
